NOTE
THERE IS AN UPDATED SHORTER VERSION OF THIS
Hello everyone! This is my first time posting a thread so could you tell me if its good? Well... Here it is! Nothing that might be ruled out ( although one part may raise a flag. Hope it wont. )
Name: something like Hammerslinger
Description ( not the ingame description! ): The hammerslinger is a troop unlocked in dark barracks lv7 (or more). It is unique in a way that it throws an independant hammer that will do damage to multiple buildings/troops/heroes in a line before turning back.
The hammerslinger's hammer could act as an independant troop as its own (technically). Although it only moves in the direction it is thrown, it damages enemies, has a set speed, and does not act like a projectile (like an archer's arrow). In terms of mathematics, I'd say the hammer should pierce 5 buildings/troops before it turns around. Then it should redamage those buildings again, returning to the hammerslinger. The turaround could be perhaps half a second. When the hammer hits a wall, it reflects back instantly.
No, I do not invision the hammerslinger as being some type of Thor. That might be what you are thinking, but its not what I am. I was thinking of something like a Pekka the size of a Hog Rider with light ceramic colored armor and a barbarian lv5 or 6 helmet, and of course, with legs. Can you envision that?

Hammerslinger is a melee unit, despite hammer throwing capabilities. It cannot attack air units or past walls.
The maximum damage a lv4 hammerslinger can do is 500. This is 50 ( damage per hit ) x 5 ( amount of buildings able to pass ) x 2 ( the hammers goes back ). This damage will be spread, 100 damage per building per throw. Each throw must be at least a second apart ( it hits a wall, and there is a throw cooldown), although maxed damage throws take as long as 2 seconds (the hammer doesnt travel lightspeed). This means a minimum of 150 (short throws) and maximum of 250 ( long throws) damage per second. If the hammer hits nothing and goes on to infinity, then thats just 50 damage. Eventually it will magically get another hammer....
But 250 DPS! You may be thinking... thats better than most other troops! But, if you think about it, its damage per second per housing space is only 17, compared to a Wizard's 45 or goblin's 42. If you really want damage, get something else.
I put a hammer throw cooldown for two reasons. One, to prevent overpowering. Two, so if its trying to break a wall it doesnt throw 10 times a second, breaking even a lv11 wall in 14 seconds. Third, so the hammer throw animation can play.
One last note before I discuss strategies: to make up for lost DPS when hitting a wall, when the hammer hits a wall, it does damage to a 5x5 radius.
Offensive Strategy:
-Hammerslinger can be extremely effective against open villages where you can make the most out of its hammer throw. Therefore, it makes a good donateable offensive troop.
-Hammerslinger has a modest health and attacks can faster than many other troops. Put it with giants in a raid and it can help do a lot of damage combined with its huge splash attack when the hammer hits a wall.
-Hammerslinger would be most used and most needed (and therefore be very important) in many situations. Say your giants are occupied with a defence, with an inferno tower behind it. The hammerslinger would damage both structures, preventing the inferno tower from doing too much damage. If the inferno tower was behind walls, it would still be damaged by the splash attack.
-Archers or goblins in the clan castle can be wiped out by the splash attack.
-It can be extremely effective at cleaning up outside the base, being able to quickly destroy multiple buildings at once.
Defensive Strategy:
- Hammerslingers take up a lot of clan castle space, so its better not to put them in.
- Dont make too few compartments. make sure your defences are properly placed, too.
- Inferno towers behind walls arent as effective anymore. Multi Target mode can help destroy the hammerslinger and any giants protecting it (although golems wont be affected as much)
- Dont put storages in the same wall compartment.
