Carsonel's TH8 progress and questions....

So I decided to splurge a bit and bought $25 in gems.

Got my 5th builder, finished my upgrade of dragons lvl3, and saving the rest to boost barracks and king for farming.

Currently have my builders working on....

Air Def lvl6 1/3 2 days left
Wizard Tower lvl6 2/3 4 days left
Archer Tower lvl9 1/5 4 days left

Barracks lvl10 2 days left (currently have 2 lvl7 and 1 lvl9 barrack)
Dark Barracks lvl3 5 days left (built my other dark barrack its at lvl1 atm)

Started my Minions lvl2, since I use them quite a bit for farming, going to either upgrade goblins lvl5 or hog lvl2, depending on if i have the 20k DE or not.....

As for my builders I plan on keeping 1 on Air Def, 1 on Wiz Towers then Teslas, 1 alternating between archer towers and teslas, and the last one Im gonna upgrade the Dark Barracks to lvl4 to get the Golem right after lvl3 is done.

Do lvl2 Golems and Pekkas make a difference? How important is it to upgrade them?

Should I do it right away or after my Hogs, Goblins, Loons, Wiz?

-max BK to level 10 should be your number 1 and only priority, then archer 5 for farm, then dragon 3 for war, then remaining troops
-defense should be an after thought. I would prioritize upgrading mortar (for farm defense) and air defense (for war defense).

Already have my Barbs,Arch,Giants and WBs to lvl5 and my Drags just finished lvl3

My Barb King is only lvl5 atm, but I wanna upgrade some DE troops mainly Hogs and Minions before I dump DE back into him.

But you are right about putting slightly higher priority on my Mortars....

1 is already maxed at lvl6 and the other 3 are lvl5, going to alternate between my mortars and teslas with my 5th builder I got today.

So upgrade one mortar, then one tesla, then one mortar ect.....

Also will start my Archer Towers right after the Wiz Towers finish, those are more important than i previously thought esp now they shoot twice as fast.....

Enjoying my newly upgraded lvl3 Dragons, three starred a base that was pretty close to being maxed th8 with them and 3 Rage Spells ;).

So after slacking off for a few days I got back on it, farmed all night and now all 5 builders + my lab are working....

My builders are currently upgrading.....

1.Wizard Tower l6 #3/3

2. Air Def l6 #2/3

3. Dark Barracks l4 (other DB is only l1)

4. Archer Tower l9 #2/5

5. Cannon l9 #1/5

Currently upgrading Goblins lvl5.

Both the AT and Cannon I did bc they were cheaper options, less than a day left on each of them.

When they finish I plan to put one on Tesla lvl4 (all l3 atm), and the other one first on King l6, then one by one maxing out the 3 remaining Mortars....

I currently have around 15k DE and my Goblin upgrade has 4 days left.....

I want to get my Minions to lvl3, since I use them alot in farming, but its only 20k DE, and dont want to be sitting on a ton of DE.

So my plan is to upgrade my King to lvl6 when i get the 22.5k DE, then save for Minions lvl3, hoping to have the 20k to upgrade right when my Goblins finish, so 4 days.

Boosting both my DE drills which gives me 4,160 daily, so during those 4 days Ill drill almost 17,000 DE, which means Ill try to farm the remaining 10k DE.

If anything ill just wait an extra day of boosting my DE Drills if I cant quite farm it all......

I know after lvl5 King that Hog Rider upgrades should be what you spend your DE on, but I use Minions all the time for farming...

I plan to max my Hogs but first I want to get my Minions to atleast l3, hopefuply 4.

Also plan on putting 2 builders on Teslas since my Wizard Tower builder is on his last WT.

Also a quick question on upgrades.....Ofc if I have DE Ill upgrade those troops first.

For my DE Troops Im thinking:

Minions l3
Minions l4
Hogs l2
Hogs l3
Hogs l4
Golem l2 (if I get that far)

As for regular troop order Im thinking..

Balloons l5
Wiz l5
Pekka l2
Rage l5
Pekka l3
Healer l3
Lightning Spell l5
Heal Spell l5

Does this sound good or should the Pekka be higher?

Also what about the Golem? Do lvl2 Golems really make a noticible diffeeence?

What Im wondering is at th8 for war attacks if GoWiPe could be stronger than 10 Dragons? Or is it even worth my time?

Would l5 Wiz l2 Golems and l2-3 Pekkas in the GoWipeArmy surpass Dragons?

So after 6 straight war losses and getting 6 stars 5/6 tines and 5 stars once bc I attacked a th9.

Always use 10x lvl3 Drags + 3x lvl4 Rage Spells. So for both attacks that = 900k elixir, with my donations its well over a million.

So feeling a little ♥♥♥♥♥ed that I was one of the few that went all out and some people would use barch or not attack at all, I decided to try out another clan....

The clan Im in just started war. 10 vs 10 and I am #10, there is one or two other TH8S but they are close to maxed, few th9s and like 5 th10s, 1 or 2 maxed or very close to maxed th10s.

So war started, on the enemy side #10 was a mid level th7, #9 was close to maxed th8, anti Dragon base, #8 was close to maxed th8 but only had 2/3 of his Air Defences in his war base....

So I attack #8, easy 3 star.

Decide to go for #9, got 80% 2 star, but it would have been a three star if I didnt accidently use my last 2 Rage Spells at the same time......a little disappointed but hopefuply my clan can see that I know how to atk in clan wars......

My 2 builders that finished I put 1 on my first Tesla lvl4, the other one is upgrading my King to lvl6, I did my war attacks before upgrading him so I could use him for my war attacks....

Didnt really want to upgrade my King to lvl6, rather have done Minions lvl3, but didnt want to sit on 23k DE and be an obvious target.

My lab still has 2d 6h left for Goblins lvl5 so I think upgrading the King was the right choice.

After Goblins finish Im going to start Wizards lvl5, since my new clan is mostly th9-10s they request wizards atleast lvl5, I dont want to be the noob giving them l4 Wiz so gonna do that next.

If I was in my old clan I would either upgrade my Minions to lvl3 or my Balloons to lvl5, but that can wait a little bit.......

My last Wizard Tower will finish its lvl6 Max for th8 upgrade. When that is done Ill prob max my DE Storage to lvl4, then when all the odd things are done my plan for my builders is.....

1 finishing up Air Defence
1 on mortars
2 on Teslas
1 getting my 3 remaining Archer Towers to lvl9

So went on a HUGE farming binge, been farming on and off from noon to almost midnight.

Boosted 2/4 barracks 4-5 times total, my King is currently upgrading, if he wasnt I would have boosted him aswell.

Just logged off with around 5 mil gold and 4.5mil elixir.....hopefully whoever attacks me just gets 100% and gives me a shield. Prepared to lose 300k gold and elixir while sleeping, which is fine as long as I get a shield....

The Army I used was.....
10 Giants l5
10 Wallbreakers l5
20 Goblins l4
15 Minions l2
28 Barbarians l5
40-50 Archers l5
2-4 Wizards l4
Didnt use any spells, except maybe 1 rage in less than 5% of the raids....

So compared to Barch this army isnt super expensive but not cheap either....

The cost is roughly:

75-80K Elixir + 105 Dark Elixir (minions)

Looking at 10 raids avreaging the loot the average loot came to:

118K Gold 146k Elixir so 264k total loot.

Out of the 10 raids 3 of them were fails or semi fails, which brought down the average a bit.

My lowest 3 raids got me a total of only: 89k, 94k, and 101k combined gold and elixir.

The best raid out of those 10 got me 289k gold and 316k elixir, so a combined total of 605k

When looking for a raid I go for th7s or easier th8s with ideally 300k total loot, but 250k would be my cutoff, the exception to that would be a very easy base where I will only need to use half my troops, in that case it depends but I still like to get atleast 200k total loot, maybe 150k if its all collectors that are super easy to get to.....

With 146k Elixir on average that gives me a 66k profit on elixir after paying for my army......

I know people tell me to barch barch barch, but what is the loot like? I dont think Barch would even average 132k loot, which is half what my army averages, but could be wrong.....

I guess Barch works if you are super picky about choosing a base and skip countless times.....

On average I would say I skipped 10-15 times per raid, used to go for 225-250k loot bases, but lately have upped my 'standards' to 300k......

How I train them up is....
On the 2 boosted barracks I train....

5 Giants, 5 wbs, 10 goblins, 10 archers.
When army camps are full I will que 2 Wizards on each boosted barrack so they will be ready when Im done raiding.

Barrack #3: 50 Archers
Barrack #4: 50 Barbarians
Dark Barrack #1: 20 Minions

Dark Barrack #2 is currently upgrading to lvl4 to unlock Golems: before the upgrade I would train 3-4 Valkyries, mainly to test them out and to give to CC guild mates, I would also train Minions so they would be pumped out both dark barracks.

When my second Dark Barracks is upgraded I will prob train some Golems to test them out, also prob a few Valks, or Minions if Im being serious.....

When my Wizards upgrade to lvl5, which will be in 7 days, I will prob increase the number of wizards and take out a few barbs, archers, goblins....

Now I use 2-4 Wizards

When my Wiz are l5 Im thinking about something like: 5-10 Wizards.

To make room I will probably take out:
8 Barbs, 8-12 Archers (to add 4-5 wiz) and if I really want to go heavy on the Wizards ill also take out 3 Minions, 2-6 Goblins. (To add 5-8 Wiz total).

Only thing I hate about Wizards is they take SO long at 8 minutes, thats 24 Barbarians you can make in place of that 1 Wizard.

For when my 2 builders finish in less than 2 days, and my lab is done researching I already have ready the 2.4mil elixir for DE Storage l4, and the 2.5mil elixir for Wizards lvl5. Going to start my Mortar 2/4 but @ only 1.6mil gold I will have around 3.5mil gold left, which I will probably spend in walls.....


Kinda funny that 3.5mil gold only gets you 7 lvl8 walls hahah. I did a few lvl8 walls today, I think I have 15 skull walls so far, so 210 to go. Thats a crazy 105 million gold!!!!

Ok need to sleep now, with boosting my DE Drills they fill up every 6 hours, so even when Im not power farming like I did today, Im trying to make a habbit on logging on to atleast clear my DE Drills......

@ only 30 Gems to boost both of them they are making an extra 2,160 DE daily. If you compare that w just buying DE with gems 30 gems will get you ~360 DE, so compared to just buying DE, boosting the Drills will give you around 6X the amount of DE.

Have around 400 Gems left, so I plan on boosting my DE Drills for the next 5-8 days, so 150-240 gems, leaving 160-250 for boosting barracks and king.

I will more likely just keep boosting my DE Drills and when Im low get a $10 Google Play Card to reup on gems...

In my opinion the most impprtant and useful ways to spend your gems are....

1. Boosting King
2. Boosting Barracks
3. Boosting DE Drills
4. Boosting Spell Factory (esp for doing your second war attack but have to wait on spells, for 3 Rage Spells normally it takes 135 minites, boosted cuts that down to 33min)
5. Finishing building or lab upgrades ONLY if they have less than an hour left. This is only acceptable if you have to go and are sitting on alot of resources to complete your next upgrade and want to use it instead of have it raided when you are off. Esp if you have a large amount of Dark Elixir, like lets say Pekka lvl3 has 45min left, you have 60k DE for Golems lvl2 but have to go, I would finish the Pekkas so you arent sitting on 60k DE, IF you didnt then expect 3-5k DE gone, maybe even up to 8k depending on how many times you get lightninged.

6. Finishing a troop upgrade that is essential to use in Clan Wars, having only done this once, I was asked to take harder bases, I use Dragons for war and had lvl2, but the lvl3 upgrade had like 3 days left. So I finished them to help my clan, very costly, was like 500 gems, but still I wanted to help my clan....

Before anything on this list you should buy ALL 5 builders, if you can afford it I highly sugguest buying $50 in gems ASAP, buy the 3 extra builders, then you will have gems left to boost.

If your funds are more limited I sugguest buying $20 in gems for builder 3 and 4, then you will have gems left to boost, then try to save up another $20 to get builder #5.

I recently bought my 5th builder, and SO glad that I did, it makes a huge difference...

Some people recommend clearing debris and completing achievements to get your builders, while its the only option if you cant buy gems its a HUGE daunting task, some achievements could take a year or more....hahah.

By the way if you cant buy gems through your cell phone carrier, or your parents wont let you or whatever but you have cash there are Google Play giftcards at almost every major grocery store I have been to.

They are in weird denominations however......$15,$25,$30 (3 seperate $10 cards), $50, and thats all I remember, might be more though.

It would be nice to have $10 and $20 cards, even a $5 would be sweet, I certianly would have spent way more if I could get $5 or $10 cards, but for now the cheapest one is $15, maybe if you have 2 real life friends that play and also want to buy gems you can all three throw down $10 and each get 1 of the 3 $10 cards in the $30 pack......

So after farming all through out the day yday and a little bit today I maxed out on gold.

So I had 6mil gold and a little over 5mil elixir.

With all builders busy and the first free builder wont be for another 26 hours, Im just chillin for now......considered gemming the builder to complete the task but @ 300 Gems and only having 391 I would rather save those 300 Gems for 10x 2 hour rounds of boosting 2 barracks + my king.....

My plan is to use 2.5mil elixir to start wiz l5 upgrade in like a day and a half, 2.4mil elixir for DE Storage l4, As for the Gold Im going to dump the 6Mil on level 8 walls, farm more and keep a builder free to upgrade walls...,..,

Then I need to save 1.6mil to start maxing my Mortar #2/4 in like 4 days.

Day #3 of boosting my DE Drills, its only been around 24 hours since I dumped all my DE on my King lvl6 upgrade and I already have 6-7k DE again......

Did a Pekka Wizard raid today, actually worked alot better than I thought, almost 3 starred a th9, although it was somewhat rushed...

My exact army compisition was.....

5X Pekka lvl1
7X WBs lvl5
20X Wizards lvl4
1X Archer lvl5

Clan castle troops:

A little over 3 days till I unlock golems, when I do I want to try.....

With 2 Witches in my CC it would technically count as a "GoWiWiPe" I guess hahahah, always wanted to use a Witch, esp with gowiwipe army :).



EDIT: Just got raided, a total of 300k gold and 300k elixir was available, and the attacker only managed to loot 100k gold and 100k elixir, i will trade that for a 12 hour shield no problem......

So I guess Im just gonna chill, maybe top off the gold and elixir that gets taken from me, do a few fun raids, boost my DE Drills.....

Wont be able to do much till my builder finishes. Its 6:30pm here now, he will be ready at 10-11pm tomorrow.

All my walls are lvl7 but Only 15/225 are skull lvl8 walls, working on corners and junctions that lead to multipule compartments first, attempting to make the crucial spots that WBs bust into multi compartments a little bit harder for them to bust through.


I have 210 walls left, thats 105million gold!!! And I remember back to when I was complaining about 175 lvl7 walls @ 200k ea, so 35 mil total.

GEtting all lvl8 walls is going to take around 320% of what I needed to get my walls from lvl6 pink to lvl7 purple at th7.

Walls seem like they would take a lifetime but I think for all lvl7 purple walls it took me only like 8-10 days, would try to farm 4mil gold to upgrade 20 walls each day.


Maybe if I try for 6mil gold a day I should be able to finish my walls in 2-3 weeks.

Only upgrading some walls now bc I have excess gold, maybe Ill try for 20-25 walls, we will see, but the majority of my walls will have to wait till my defences are maxed out first :)

You can try aiming for bigger raids then you're not boosting. I personally always go for at least 300k combined for collectors and only go for storages if they have at least 500k combined or are premmie and have 400k.

Tbh, if you want to max TH8, you only need to farm 3mil per day and have left over. At this rate you're farming, you might be able to move to TH9 early after maxing a few important things. As a TH8, there is no need for any elaborate army comps, just regular lvl5 barch with a few wb can 100% a TH7 along with a heal spell or 2. If you're willing to use gibarch though, you can practice it and hit other TH8 so that when you reach TH9, you can 100% any TH8 with just gibarch

Took a couple days off.

While I was off my King lvl6 upgrade + Dark Barracks l4 finished.....

2 Builders are close to done, my first Tesla lvl4 has 3 hours left and my 2/3 Air Defence has 9 hours to go.....last builder I put on a cannon lvl9 just bc it was cheap, that one has 2 days to go.

Atm farming to get the gold and elixir to start my next round of upgrades.....

Atm sitting on almost 20k DE, Lab isnt done with Wiz l5 for another 3 days, so going to dump DE into my King when I get the 25k DE.

Will prpbly boost DE Drills for 1 more day, but after that I am done w boosting DE Drills untill I get more gems.

Was just raided for 1,900 DE, so it sucks sitting on alot of it, thats why Im just going to dump it into my King.

In war but opposing clan has done 0 attacks and only th10s left, so going to save my 1mil elixir I usually use fpr war and put towards my DE storage.

Also excited to try out gowipe, will provably do a fun gowipe raid after I am done farming.
