Carsonel's TH8 progress and questions....

So i am a pretty new th8, I left th7 with everything maxed except for 2 barracks at lvl7, gold mines at lvl9, elixir collectors 3 @ lvl9 3 @ lvl10. Other than that everything was maxed.

All research was completed besides DE, so Hogs and Minions at lvl1, my king was also lvl1.

The very first thing I did was max my DE drills both lvl3, DE Storage at lvl3.

So defence wise i built the new buildings and decided to get them to the same level as my other ones, finished that.

Research wise I finished Archers, Barbs,Giants, and WBs lvl5, just started Dragons lvl3 to help with taking on harder bases in war. I also have managed to get my king to level 5.

Other than that i have all 3 wizard towers lvl5, 1 mortar lvl6, giant bombs lvl3,skeleton traps lvl2.

All three of my Air Defs are lvl5, all three Teslas are lvl3.....

So with my 4 builders what I plan on doing is.....

1 on Wizard Towers till all lvl6
1 on Air Defence till all lvl6
1 on Teslas till lvl 4 or 5
1 rotating with 'need to do upgrades' like king, barracks, and when no urgencys alternate between teslas and mortars.

Then I plan on maxing my Archer Towers and finally my Cannons, basically going from most to least important.

As far as research after Dragons Im thinking Goblins level 5, maybe hogs, minions, or balloons after idk yet.


So my question is I would really like to unlock Pekkas and Golems, with my 4th builder would it be smart to upgrade a barrack to unlock pekkas, then after that build my second dark barracks and upgrade to level 4, that way i will be able to make minionsband hogs still while upgrading the second dark barrack.

Also another question: how important is pekka level 2 upgrade? Should i make it a high, medium, or low priority?

My other options would to either put 2 builders on Teslas, since they take SOOOO long, or upgrade the 3 remaining Mortars to lvl6 then move to Teslas, or I could always switch between Mortars and Teslas, one mortar, one tesla, one mortar, one tesla.

I really want to unlock Pekkas and Golems to have another war attack option than just Dragons, I figure Pekkas first, then build the second Dark Barrack and upgrade to level4 to unlock Golems and Valks on the way....

Does that sound like a good plan? I feel like Im doing things right startingbw the strongest defence first, AD,WT,Tesla,Mortars,Archer Towers,Cannons, just want to double check with you guys.

Also except for the Minions and the occasional few Hogs for Clanmates all my Dark Elixir went to getting my king to lvl5 for the ability, now that its lvl5 should i start using DE to upgrade my Minions and Hogs or keep upgradibg the King?

I haven't time to read the end , but as a maxed th8, i will try to help you. I think you should always have 1 tesla upgrading. That's being said,they take so much time.
Upgrade BK to lvl 10. Nom de troop upgrade before. Gowipe is not that good, mostly a 2 star attack. At th8, y ou want 3* with dragons.
I think it's better have mortar/wiz upgrade fast. Then 1 ad at a time.

Thanks for the advice hflux :). At th8 I figure eventhough its doable, gowipe is meant for max or close to maxed troops, lvl3 dragons is probably better.

So I kinda mapped out what I plan on doing with my 4 builders, lmk if you think its a good plan, if Im missing something, any feedback would be awesome!!

Builder #1: #1 Air Def 5 ---->6, #2 Air Def 5----->6, #3 Air Def 5----->6

Builder #2: #2 Wiz Tower 5----->6, #3 Wiz Tower 5----->6, #2 Mortar 5----->6, #3 Mortar 5----->6, #4 Mortar 5----->6

Builder #3: Gold Storage 10----->11 #1 Tesla 3----->4, #2 Tesla 3----->4, #3 Tesla 3----->4 #1 Archer Tower 8----->9

Builder #4: Elixir Storage 10----->11, Barracks 9----->10, New Dark Barracks Lvl1, Dark Barracks 1----->2, Dark Barracks 2----->3, Dark Barracks 3----->4

They all are within just a few days of each other, possibly instead of the archer tower I might upgrade my DE Storage to lvl4. But not too worried since thats like 20 days from now.

With the left over gold I have I will work on turning the 32lvl6 pink walls I have into purple, 6.4mil total, should be able to do it before this list ends though.

Seem like a pretty well thought out plan guys?

Very very tempted to go to the store and buy a $20 google play card and get the fifth and final builder, in that case i would knock out those Wizard towers then put it on permanent Tesla duty so most of the time 2 builders will be upgrading Teslas.


Does this seem like a good plan? Did you do abything different? Think i can improve on this? Any comments, feedback, past experneice i can learn from, basically any feedback what so ever would be awesome and greatly appriciated!!

Yes, you should. Max a Barracks to unlock Pekka & max your Dark Barracks to unlock Golems. Then, go for the second Dark barracks.

If you're going to use GoWiPe instead of Mass Drags in War, you should definitely go for Pekka Lvl 3!

Thank you! I didnt know you could upgrade Pekka to level 3. Thought that was th9.

And you are right. After I get my Teslas to lvl4 ill go back to my mortars, atn trying to beef up my defence power spevifically in war, and i always get atked by 11 drags includibg the one in their CC, level 3 drags have a hard time, made an anti dragon war base ;).

Also that makes sense, hogs are very very important. I will prob start my hogs whenever i have enough DE, and save DE till they are level 4, might do minions lvl2 after hogs lvl2 depending on if i wanna waste the lab time or not then, but gonna stick to mainly hogs lvl4, then king lvl10, then minions and golems, valks are kinda useless huh? Hahah

So gonna let my fourth builder start upgrading a barrack to unlock pekkas, but i dont wanna be out a barrack when its war time so ill wait till after war tomorrow, 2 of 4 currently make dragons so making 10 drags w 1 barrack seems like a pain hahah.

WBs lvl5 is a huge improvement, doing 1,840 damage I only need to use 1 to break through a pink lvl6 wall and let the Giants do the rest of the work. At level4 Needing 2 to break a gold lvl5 wall vs 1 level 5 breaking over 90% of a pink lvl6 wall is great!!

Also my king lvl5 upgrade finished, with the ability hes atleast twice as useful, I feel like when hes raged from his ability he goes towards the center vs going around the base.

Realizing how weak my 32 remaining Pink walls are to lvl5 wbs and having 5million gold in storage I upgraded all the Pink walls to Purple.

When I have extra gold i plan on starting with the T junctions where wbs get into more than one compartment, will make those Skull lvl8 walls when I can, too bad you cant use Elixir anymore till lvl9, that would have helped a ton.

Started upgrading my last Gold and Elixir Storage to level 11, thought it was already level 11 but I guess not.

My Air Defence finishes in less than an hour, they will all 3 be level 5. Plan on maxing my Air Defences ASAP, but @ 2.2mil for lvl6 and just dumping all my gold into walls I am around 2million gold short.

So a builder isnt idle I might upgrade something stupid like an Orange Air Bomb Level 3, which only takes 12h, then ill have the cash for my Air Defence level 6.

As far as troops when my dragons lvl3 finish I decided on doing Goblins level 5, then hopefully I can get my Hogs up to atleast level 3, but hopefully maxed at 4. All my DE will be put towards the Hog upgrades......if I dont have DE I will probably do my Balloons and then Wizards.

After my storages finish my plan is still the same. One builder on AD, one on Wiz Towers, One on Teslas, and one to unlock Pekkas, then Mortars, then my second Dark Barracks levels 1-4.

I will take a screenshot of my farming and war base, I currently farm at Silver I, Been doing well averaging around 300k combined loot per raid.

My current army is....
8 Giants l5
8 WBs l5
20-30 Goblins l4
10-20 Minions l1

Depending on whats trained up Ill have 70-110 slots left and do around 1/3 Barbs and 2/3 Archers soooo....

20-40 Barbarians l5
50-70 Archers l5

With my King being level5 and the ability raging all surrounding barbarians I have been trying to replace 5-10 Archers w Barbarians

As for spells I always have 3x Level 4 Rage Spells, which I hardly ever use, for farming maybe 1 Rage Spell every 10-15 raids, Basically I use it on Minions or Drags when they are about to die and on the storages.

Only exception, is when Im Dark Elixir grinding and desprate for DE, like when I was trying to get the 20k for my King Level 5. In that case I will train up lightning lvl4 spells and any base with over 1,500 DE that I could never get to (usually maxed out th9s and 10s), well since Im desprate they get zapped hahahah.


Anyways does anyone have an alternate farming army? Have heard that I dont need Giants and should use Barbs instead but I feel like I need a meat shield and also wizard towers wreck my barbs, I need some Giants to distract and take down defs, and help clear a path to the storages.

Don't go for Goblins Lvl 5, instead go for Wizards lvl 5. The best upgrade with the most boost in stats is a Wizard going from Lvl 4 to Lvl 5. Don't keep it waiting or you'll be wasting something really powerful!

Go to Gold League, you're wasting your time in Silver 1, trust me! I've tried it & it's not a good spot for a TH8.

Since it takes too long & too much elixir to train 3 spells for Zapping & getting only 1k-1.5k DE, it's not that beneficial. SAY NO TO ZAPPING since you can get more DE in lesser amount of time & with the same elixir cost. Check this :p

I won't give the exact numbers since mine are random as well when i train them but it's round about this,
10-12 Giants,
5-7 wbs,
45-50 barbs,
80-90 Arch.
(No spells)
& Ofc, BK
I've managed to get to the center of even maxed out TH8s this way & steal 1k+ DE from them. Not always, but many times. I'm sure that if you add a Heal spell, it'll guarantee an easy storage raid.

I knkw its a big boost in damage, i think 45 more dps, but I hardly use them, like almost never.

Only times are when im logging off, or boosting a barrack and its full so ill que up a wiz so its ready to go.

The thing about wizards is 8minutes is quite alot of time!! I usually resort to goblins and do storage raids on weaker th7s.

Wiz will help when i am closer to max th8 and have golems and pekkas though.

And i stopped lightning DE storage, just did that to get the last 300DE fpr my lvl5 king.

Ill def put wiz at a high priority, you are right its a big increease.

Atm i use drags for war, but as i max out my troops maybe gowipe would be more effective, we will see.

I might upgrade my minions to lvl2 pr 3 for farming but my real goal for dark troops is to max out my hogs.

Right now im working on my second dark barracks, first air def lvl6, first wiz tower lvl6, and elixir storage lcl11 which i forgot to do before hahah

GoWiPe is probably statistically only mostly a 2 star attack at TH8 because pekkas and golems are the last things you unlock troops wise at TH8. They are also the hardest to fully max at TH8.

At 3 million and 6 million elixir for level 2 and 3 pekkas respectively lots of people will probably skip level 3, and at 60k DE lots of people probably can't even save that much DE at that level. So if people do use GoWiPe at TH8 they aren't fully upgraded, or by the time their GoWiPe is fully upgraded they are just about to ready to upgrade their TH. So they never really get much practice using that strategy much less perfect it.

And the above is what fuels these comments about GoWiPe not being that good, when in fact it is a very powerful strategy used correctly will 3 star maxed TH8s. This is speaking from experience and from observations from my fellow clan mates in clan wars.
