You do know how a business works, correct? Fear not, Supercell apologist, a pretty cool guy is here. In desperation, businesses tend to lower prices when there is low demand in a last ditch effort to still make profit.

With my last acct, I did not spend a single penny on this game. I was TH9, lvl 80 and had 2 years into the game. I am now restarting.
