Please bring back upgrading walls from 7 to 8 with elixir

It's not a big deal before wall 7, but from 7 to 8 is painful. There's so much to spend gold on, and so little for elixir. All my elixir building upgrades are done, while I still have a lot of gold buildings AND walls to upgrade, so I'll be sitting on full elixir storages for weeks while I finish gold upgrades, but if I could upgrade my walls with elixir at the same time, everything would be done at closer to the same time.

I understand that you wanted to give raiders something to go after, but if I can't even spend the elixir I already have, I don't want any more from a raid. I'll still keep hitting next until I find good gold loot.

Let's break this down:

1. You're complaining about having too much loot. Stop and think about that one for a moment.
2. They did not want to give raiders "something" to go after. They wanted to make sure there was elixir to go after. You do understand that right?
3. The fact that you indicate you are going to hit next until you find gold as opposed to elixir would indicate #2 is working as intended right? Furthermore what do you think will happen when someone who needs elixir comes across your base?

Instead of complaining about it why don't you take advantage of your elixir surplus such as:

• Upgrade your gold mines: When you don't have enough gold to upgrade your defence, use your elixir to increase gold production.
• Use more expensive troops: Instead of barcher why don't you use Dragons or P.E.K.K.A. So you can get more gold from each raid.
• Clan wars: The war loot will slighlty help increase your gold, while using up your elixir.
• Put your elixir storages on the outside so you have more walls to make your defence better to protect your gold.
• Use alchemy and 'convert' your elixr to dark elixir by zapping. Although it's cheap, insensitive and annoying; it's probably less annoying than not using the spare elixir to donate powerful troops.

This is not just me, this is a common problem at TH8, and for 9 & 10 as well: too much elixir that we don't need, and too little gold that we desperately need.

3) No, it doesn't. They said when they did it that they wanted to decrease the time it took raiders to find good targets. If elixir is worthless, then having more available is not an incentive. If we need gold, it still takes a long time to find it.

Get over it. Supercell amended something and they must've put plenty of thought into it

you missed the point of the whole post you're not thinking of the entire clash community you're thinking about yourself. there are thousands of threads about this with the EXACT SAME points made every time and considering that you only have 5 post at the time I'm typing this I don't think you read the forums before posting this. you want the game to be better? well instead of thinking about what benefits you and just town hall 8s could you consider the people who have been playing longer than you? you think town hall 9s have a luxury? most 9s don't even use elixir on walls unless theyre done with everything else. also, elixir is loot and resources since you knew what they meant by availability you know that they primarily mean elixir that was dumped off the system when elixir for lower walls was introduced. again, I know you're new here so just read the other post first these threads are going to get trolled and you're going to just get upset when somebody decides to call you out for posting the same thing that all the other town hall 8s that think skull walls is hard get. just going to save you some time now go ahead and go read the forums now before you come back making a "my DE storage keeps getting zapped by lightning spells" post. thank you and good luck to you in your future endeavors.

Too much elixir . . . make a bunch of lightning spells and go zap as many builder huts as possible to get your Union Buster achievement. Problem solved.

That doesn't really follow now does it? The chief complaint was that elixir disappeared almost overnight, going from the least to the most rare resource. If you want more gold, use some of that extra elixir to go out and raid for it. Considering you have no need for it, you should be wiling to raid smaller amounts of gold by spending larger amounts of elixir no?

Elixir is worthless -for you-. You are not everyone. Why can't you understand that your own anecdotal evidence means nothing when compared to the mountains of data that SC collects from all players? They don't just make changes willy nilly. Clearly they looked at the data for elixir availability and decided that they needed to make adjustments.

These suggestions are just as awful as the OP's complaint to bring it back.

So he forgoes Barch, an army that can pull in 150-200k+ each from dead bases at a rate of 3-4 times an hour, for dragon/pekka raids? Do these dragons and pekkas take only 15/20 minutes to cook as a TH8 as opposed to the 30/45min they take as a TH9/10?

EDIT: OP, this is in no way intended to let you off the hook. Just b/c his suggestions are laughable at best doesn't mean yours to bring it back the way that lvl 9-11 are currently allowed to are any better.

There are so many alternative ideas that have been pitched by people who want to allow lvl 7/8 walls to be used with elixir but first set the priority that it doesn't cripple the economy in the way that it did the first time around. Take even 2 seconds to think about the larger picture and then come back with something better than "SUPRECELL BRI;NG BACK LVL 8 WALL!S" It's a knee-jerk response, a terrible idea, and is posted 10 times a day in here.
