It would be ok. But would have to be optional so that those the prefer privacy are allowed that.

Also, you can just ask. I run an international clan and everyone pretty much knows. I can see maybe one of those revolving door clans might want something more automated but the well established clan everyone has chatted so much they know each other pretty well.

For example, maybe a country flag logo next to your names throughout the chat. Maybe SC could even put it in your profile. Yeah when you see clans there is a section as to what country your clan is from but that doesn't fully represent where every single member is from.

Yeah this actually is a bad idea. What if someone is mixed race? Or what if someone is African American(there isn't really a flag for that)

I wouldn't say it's a "bad" idea, but one could always choose as to what flag he/she would want to represent. Also what everyone else had said about confidentiality, SC could always put the option of who has the right to view your information. For example "Friends Only" or "Everyone" as well as "Only Me" etc.

Why don't we add locations into clash like we do on forums!

Then I can advertise the fight for COW VOTING RIGHTS!!!

Again, the privacy rights can be optional. You don't necessarily have to show where you're from, there could be a hidden option.
