Free gems

I've been hearing a lot about a way to get free gems. Can anyone explain it to me?

Clear the trees and mushrooms etc. Around your village for a chance to get 0-5? Gems. You need a builder free and they cost elixir.

When you see obstacles in your village, click on it. An icon will appear stating how much elixir is needed to remove it, tap on that icon and a free builder will clear it.

Sometimes u get gems from this action.
