Heros should NOT need a builder to upgrade

With 40 hero levels, Heros have a massive cumulative upgrading time requirement...

Why do they even need a builder anyway (continueity speaking). It's a troop not a building. No other troop needs a builder to upgrade. Just resources and time (in the lab).

Dont they just get drunk on Dark Elixer then need a few days to sleep off the hangover?

Because of the extremely high amount of levels compared to any other troop or building, Heros would not be good candidates for Laboratory upgrades (like how other troops are upgraded would not be suitable for Heros).

What do you think?

Builders are necessary to knock the king and queen back into consciousness after so much DE consumption.

You also can't train heroes, so you have to hand craft their new armour, weapons and podium upgrades

Now if the alter or armor changed after every upgrade than a builder could be justified.
meaning- Higher HP for alter- new uniform etc- im even good with a new appearance for every new Ability upgrade.


otherwise it still doesn't make sense to have a builder working on a troop.

How do you think their HP goes up? In the lab, blacksmiths and scientists work on the new troop, it's easy to mass produce the small things troops have, however you want to make your hero unit, hence why it is harder.

Anything that requires a builder should gain xp in my opinion! If I need a builder for a wall its considered a "build" and I should get xp for it. No xp=no builder in my opinion. So long of the short I sorta agree either give us xp for our hero upgrades or allow them to upgrade automatically 😬

Good point Elsa. I hadn't thought of that aspect. Another good reason why to not require a builder for hero upgrades.

Or they could just give xp for upgrading heroes. But what was the first good reason?

XP is based on time. So if you want XP for walls, the walls would need a build time. Instant build, no XP.

Now upgrading Heroes should give XP.

You can 'logic' and rationalize anything in this game. You have a Builder smacking a glass container with a hammer for Elixir storage upgrades, so let's not try to use in-game logic to explain why game stats are the way they are.

For one, it is disappointing to not get XP from the time a Builder spends on upgrading a Hero, but honestly, what good is XP and levels anyway? They don't amount to anything, besides a kinda-sorta-maybe-semi-accurate gauge of base development. I say development, not strength, since you can suppress your level by not upgrading your resource related buildings, and still be strong. So the lack of XP isn't a really pressing complaint.

Now.. why it needs a builder is a more valid issue. You can always keep the Hero inactive for X amount of time without needing a Builder. The Hero can be sleeping, training, have a villager forge better weapons, etc Why a builder in the first place anyway? If it was a balancing issue, then Supercell may have added that in there to 'just be safe', and able to remove later if deemed necessary. With the whole 'Pay Elixir for Wall Upgrades' issue, it is very clear that it is easier to give to players than it is to take away. They (SC) already knew that concept and will always put more requirements on a new feature (which Heros are relatively new) than really necessary; since they want to hedge their bet because they don't exactly know what is necessary at the time of introduction.
