Town Hall 11? New Resoure? New Game!

Hi,
Few hours ago, Chief pat uploaded a video talking about TH 11 and the future of Clash of Clans and I couldn't hide m excitement to write this topic.
Chief pat talked about Town Hall 11 and how this might be an issue if buildings became very expensive and if Clash of Clans reduced the prices of building in lower town hall levels. It has been a long time since Town Hall 10 has been released.
I think that Town Hall 11 will be a very nice thing and here is some ideas:
1- Add one more storage for Gold and Elixir and one more level.
2- Add one more level for defenses except for Walls - Archer Towers and Mortars.
3- Add more defense.
3- Upgrades shouldn't exceed 10 million.
4- More powerful bases means more powerful troops means more troops upgrades.
5- New Elixir troops although I don't know how they will make it: Will they make a new barracks? Will they make a third row in the barracks and this means 5 more spaces for 5? Or make the row take 6 troops so there will be 2 more spaces for 2 troops?
6- New Resource and new barracks to train new troops with this new resource. Maybe it will be used to get a third hero? (If there will be a new hero I think the attacker must be able to take only 2 of his heroes to battle).
Maybe you will be able to use this new resource in more things.

This is what I have in my mind for now. Let me know what you guys think.
(I will update this post if I have more ideas)

TH11 would be good for people who already maxed their TH10, and even though I just started my TH10, I'd like to see it coming soon :)
I agree with most of the stuffs you're saying, except for the walls: I want lvl12 walls, and by all means, I DO NOT WANT SUPERCELL TO MAKE IT EASIER TO BUILD WALLS ONCE AGAIN. :p

I don't think there should be a new resource or new elixir troops...the dark barracks has room for new troops. Can't wait to see what's in store though!

Adding TH 11 could add upgrades to existing defenses, additional levels to existing troops, storages, mines, extractors, drills, Army Camps, Spells, etc. The board is too crowded as it is for a maxed out Town Hall 10. They could add additional Dark Troops.

They could add traps / defenses you could place on walls - for example dump hot oil on attacking troops, shoot ballista arrows, etc.

No surprise town hall 11 talk is heating up a bit in the new year - TH10 has been around quite a while now and is starting to look like a finish product. Compare TH9 to TH8. And TH10 today has a similar gap to TH9.

I doubt, and hope there is no new resource though. Stuff that.

I'd be surprised if we didn't see TH11 this year. TH10 has been getting finishing touches over the past year or so (upgraded defenses, TH10 level troops, etc) and like he said at the beginning of the video it just feels like the right time (this coming from someone who only recently (June/July 2014) started but has read over the release notes/history).

I definitely agree with him that the theme of the new TH should be electrical/blue like (current) max level walls. If it's anything else it just wouldn't make any sense. Having said that, it's too bad we already have hidden teslas, because that would be an ideal defense for an electrically themed TH. :/ Maybe a non-hidden variety that's more powerful or multi-targetting?

I disagree. I would rather them just add a new level to storages. another storage would make it a lot harder to raid them if they have 5 storages. also instead of 50 new walls i'd like to see 25 walls at th 10 and 25 walls at th 11

If a new inferno tower came out... the th11s would be OP because having 2 already is so OP

Wouldn't they need to increase the map area?

And if they did, I wonder what they will do about the X-mas tree (or other obstacles) placement. I want my X-mas trees to stay at outside the map! :)

TH9 was added in October of 2012. Witches weren't added until August of 2013 (at least that's my impression from activity on the Wiki, didn't find an actual release note that gave a hard date for that addition). TH10 was added in May of 2013. So there is precedent for a TH being added without any new TH-exclusive troops for the prior max-level TH.

Yeah, I'd be very disappointed with a new resource. DE hasn't even been full tapped (no pun intended) as far as usage in-game. No structures use it for upgrading (unless you count the hero altars), and it can only be used for upgrading DE troops in the lab. I'd like to see it usable for dark barracks upgrades (might even make sense to make it so you can only purchase the initial dark barracks with DE, then use either elixir or DE similar to how you can use gold or elixir at high levels on walls).

It'd be nice to see some other structure use DE as an upgrade resource (or introduce the idea of using multiple resources). And more DE troops wouldn't hurt either. :/

There are ways to prevent stagnation other than introducing townhall 11 though. New dark troops, clan war tournaments, and quests would all introduce new features to the game without the monotonous grind of upgrading defences yet again at townhall 11. 10 million gold for each level 14 archer tower? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

If you are going to count TH8 as "getting" the barb King, then TH10 "gets" the AQ.

I've had this discussion with a few others without a consensus, but what does this mean for TH 9's? Would it be better to completely max everything (walls included) or to go straight to TH10 after maxing defenses? It seems like it would be good to stay two town halls under the max also though, so how should TH9's in this situation act?

I honestly don't think TH11 would be a good idea. Upgrades would be way too expensive and time consuming, and bases would simply be too big, with too many defenses to deal with. It would be overwhelming.

TH10 just feels like the final TH level. It's 10, a nice round number. It also has inferno towers, the most OP defense in the game. Would a TH11 have something even stronger? That would just be ridiculous.

How many players even have a maxed TH10 anyways? 0.01%? TH11 just isn't necessary in my opinion. Supercell can do a lot of other things to extend the life of the game.

I just hope that whenever TH 11 comes out. For them to add either another elixir, gold storage or level rather then keeping it the way it is and decreasing the prices of everything for the lower THs. I dont want to see them decrease the prices for hero's or walls either.

As a th9 that's my only worry about going to th10 less loot but I'm not maxed yet if th11 was added (wich I pray to God is) I'll say ♥♥♥♥ you th9! Th10 here I come!

also who says expensive upgrades? Just give storages another lvl adding 1mil reduce walls starting at lvl9
reduce army camp upgrade cost reduce all defenses (better for th9!)

Ehh, it depends completely on how they handle TH11. With the available real estate in your normal village down to very little at TH10, I'm expecting TH11 to maybe be a "game changer": either make chiefs make choices about what structures are and aren't present, introduce "add-on" structures (or something similar), or so on. It need not be "more of the same" as with prior TH levels...

Having said that, I personally wouldn't be bothered if there were more of the same as long as it's intermixed with new structures/content (and hopefully a larger village space so we can have unique layouts). I do know that I'm hesitant to ever upgrade to TH10 because then it truly starts to "end" once I finish upgrading everything (which will take a considerable amount of time, yes, but still). It's nice to know right now for example as a TH9 that if I ever feel "bored" or like I'm at a place where I can move up that's an option.

Um, aren't new heroes ruled out? Plus if TH8 'gets' the bk then TH10 'gets' the AQ.

I'm undecided w regards to my views on TH 11.....I'd like something new (maxed albeit grinding on lev 10 walls), but at the same time feel TH 11 could be a do or die scenario for a TON of long time players. Depending on which route they take and what upgrades come with....Could be the final nail in the coffin for long time players looking for new and exciting content...

I'd be happier to see new features. I mean. Seige stuff has been talked about, maybe add seige stuff starting at th8? I think this game will become features and adding new things in bulk, not exclusive to th11, th11 would just make it the most powerful. Hopefully there is something new for those th10's out there. But as a little th9 I'm happy with the state of the game.

Fact is time equals $, the gemmers pay the bills etc if they are maxed what's the point of playing? Cups? All the top
players are not legit anyways.

As a max defense th 9. I think th 11 is a good idea. Hopefully when I upgrade to th10 they will reduce the price :rolleyes:

Besides heroes and walls I am max TH10... no TH11 for me thank you. TH10 is already boring grinding out 8 million in resources to upgrade one structure or troops by one lv. Farming gets incredibly boring when there is nothing new in the game.

Give me quests... give me more goblin maps... give me something actually new to the game itself, not just more levels which require mind numbing farming for the sake of farming.

So we are thinking of a new resource for Town Hall 11? A new resource would definetly make a massive diefferenc to the game. Although, is this good, or is it bad? We already have Dark Elixir, Elixir and Gold to worry about? Having another Barracks for the new resources troops I don't think would yet be necessary. We still haven't even finished the Dark Barracks troops yet. I agree when we reach Town Hall 11 we should get an upgrade to the current Stoatges, New Buildings and more. But bringing more content would make it overall unnecessary. As Chief Pat explained in his video, he mentioned 'features' a lot. Instead of content, features, like Clan Wars, would bring extra concepts to the game instead of having to add more content. Anyways, I am sure Supercell have a lot of suprises up their sleeve! Not to mention the would be loot penalty and overall loot economy.

First of all, Chief Pat was speculating, and nothing more. However, I do agree with his assessment. The future of the game will be focused more on features, rather than new buildings.

Another level on the storages is plausible, but another storage? No thanks. There already are enough storages to protect. Each of them currently hold 4 mill. They won't go backwards on that. If they were to add another of each, there would be a 12 mill maximum of each--not 10.

We also do not need new elixir troops. We need the remaining dark troops, which have been 'coming soon' for the last year and a half!

Finally, a new resource? No thanks. Not unless it's Mastermind's quest jewels.

Town hall 11, in my opinion, is still very far away. Town hall 10's already have it hard enough, and to throw a town hall 11 in would make things worse for both, there would be so little resources to go around. There are still a small amount of max town hall 10's compared to the amount of max town hall 9's there were when town hall 10 came out. You guys aren't thinking about the effect it would have, you're just thinking what would be cool.

The fact that he can talk about th11 suggests that th11 is not scheduled to come any time soon. Sorry to disappoint.

Just because he's had insider knowledge of past updates, does not automatically mean that he has insider knowledge of future updates. Just because something is coming (and I'm not saying it is, or isn't) does not mean that he knows about it, and in that case, his NDA would not apply.

Already so bad looking at all those TH10s at Crystal 1 to M3, that I actually feel rich at TH8 and having just had lost the lucrative TH7 loots.

You say this, but leave it hanging as if it's a statement of fact. Care to elaborate? TH10's already feed on TH9's and to a lesser extent, TH8's. A TH11 would in turn feed off of TH10's and less so on TH9's. If anything it would provide a kick to those near or maxed out at TH9 and TH10 to upgrade, moving resource availability up the food chain.

My money is on TH11 sometime this year, possibly even sometime during the first half of this year.

Dang, TH11 would be epic. But the reduction in the cost of upgrading walls would also be epic because the walls are very costly at the moment. Doing skull walls right now at TH8 and about 100 are done so far.

Games like this are fun because your base is constantly improving. If there are no further improvements to make to your base the game will indeed be stagnant. 10 million gold for an archer tower may be boring, but it is even more boring to have nothing at all to spend gold on (other than nexting, but why raid if you don't need resources).

TH9's should definitely stay at TH9 until their heroes and walls are maxed. That is good advice even now, but when half your loot is automatically protected because you are two levels below TH11 it is even better advice.

I hope th11 will come out next year not this year;)

Where are stats like this posted?

I agree with you.
the Dark Barracks is not finished yet.
Maybe a new resource is on the list but its time is not now.
Talking about features, there are a lot if things that can be added to the game.

Im almost finished with my walls and therefore the need to raid anymore... I understand that some people dont want TH11 because it might ruin the economy blah blah, but yeah another round of walls at 5million would keep me going quite happily... i would like the walls to actually mean something of course, and maybe things to do with walls would be cool too..

That's easy, anyone who is farming walls now already knows how to get loot from th10s. Just farm in m2 or above and get the bonus plus whatever loot u steal. It isn't hard. However, if th11 does come with new camps and troop ugs then elix is going to be a problem.

Also, obviously with th11 there has to be a map expansion

Sorry to go off topic, but watch Pats video around 5:30 and see the BK follow the enemy hogs around the base and then walk away from them! That is so funny to watch! Sorry that made me LOL for reals. :p

I'm sure TH11 will come into existence at some point, and I'm sure it will be at least as reasonably balanced upon introduction as 10 and 9 were. Tweaked thereafter, but not too bad from the word go. Here's what I care about, and there isn't anything else.

Require players to have 5,000 multiplayer wins (3 stars on the Conqueror Achievement) before moving to Townhall 11. No amount of whining about lost gem revenue can change it. Make it happen for the good of the playing community. Gemmers with Max TH10s and 750 wins can start using those gems to boost barracks instead. Cope.

Anything else is gravy. Please give me an excuse to start playing with my main account again (nowhere near max 10, dreadfully boring, 3,500 wins).

Th11 would certainly help the loot at TH10. Although, I don't think it will be anytime soon. About the new resource, I really don't want one. We already have plenty of different resources.

3rd Hero is R-U-L-E-D O-U-T

I don't see what the benefit would be to th11. As the game stand now there is no point in winning a defence. Even during a push is easier to put my th out and not have to rearm traps. You would not need th11 to reach champs, evidence by all the th7 or lower champ treads. I will never be a top player, im not going to ♥♥♥♥♥/gem and stay online half the day.

even now I question the point in upgrading my th10, i will max the archer towers to one shot archers but lvl3 and lvl4 xbows really are not worth raiding for hours and hours. Walls while they make my ocd happy are not worth the effort. The only thing at th10 that was worth it was the troops/freeze makes farming Hereos easier

Yeah, right...

I think TH11 has to come at some point in the near future. As others have said here, a large portion of SC's income comes from gemmers rushing to max out all the new toys. Most current gemmers already did this right when TH10 came out and ever since have had significantly less options to spend their money on. So from a business perspective SC really has no choice but to either add TH11 with a whole new set of upgrades for people to gem, or find some other way to compensate for those gem sales if they don't add it.

As a 'nearly maxed' TH10 (Only walls, heroes, valks, and a few traps left) farmer, I am not sure how I would feel about TH11. On the one hand who doesn't like new toys? On the other hand I/m not sure I am ready to grind out another round of upgrades on all my towers and troops.

If TH11 does come, please no new resources, we already have enough with the 3 current resources and really DE should probably be given some more uses.

Also no new hero (i know it kinda contradicts the new uses for DE from my last point but still) the BK and AQ are already powerful enough and with a new TH likely comes another 10 levels for each.

We do not need any new elixir troops, we need the last 4 DE troops and at least one new spell before any new troops types are considered and any new barracks added to the game should be additional dark barracks.

Finally, the only new storage I would like to see added is a second DE storage, 4 gold and elixir storages is already plenty but a new level is probably called for with TH11.

Supercell's next few updates are going to be crucial to its future success and long term growth of this game in my opinion.

What I mean by this?

This game can certainly be around for many years to come... BUT... a big change needs to be made sooner rather than later. I have been playing this game since November 2012 and have been fully maxed now for quite some time. I have farmed, made champs, pushed, warred, completed goblin maps, etc.. etc... The game was always packed with excitement, and rewards for completing achievements etc... The feeling you get when you finally reach champs or upgrade that last defense or wall is great. But, I am now fully maxed, completed almost all of the achievements, our clan has won over 20 wars in a row with 110+ wins, i have made it to 4300+ trophies... my gold grab is 2 billion...What is left?

I realize I am one of very few players to have reached this point in the game. My point of saying all of this is that every player in this game will at some point reach this situation if they keep farming hard and upgrading their base etc... and then they will be faced with the question I am faced with every time I turn the game on... what now?

Currently I have not much to do other than war in the game.

What can we do to keep this game fun for many years to come for EVERYONE? That is the question.... and that is what I think Supercell needs to nail in these next few updates... The game needs some fireworks... the time is now!

I think that with TH 11 should come an expansion to the village's area... if they put anything new like defenses or walls than the physical room in the village won't be enough anymore.
With such an update you could theoretically go on forever with the game... adding in the future new defences, traps ad so on.

About troops, more than the addition of new ones, I would love to see an evolution of the existing ones...like special hits for wizards or dragons... one more level for whiches for sure. Something special hit for pekka...
The possibility to make something special with archers or barbarians, like grouping them up with "special group skills".

There are billions of possibilities, I just hope SC will exploit them properly

^This. It's also nice having choices: if you're a TH10 and all you have left is a few lingering lab upgrades (for troops you hardly use) and walls, that's not really fun anymore. For completionists? Sure. But right now I'm TH9 and enjoy the fact that I'm choosing what to prioritize and where to put my builders next. Once I hit TH10 I know the choices start to diminish as I do those final upgrades, and that sounds boring...

Maybe you missed it: They added new levels to the collectors in the last update. Those levels are only available at TH8+, so you're going to see that loot starting to increase as people get those collectors upgraded. I wouldn't be surprised to see another level added for TH9 or TH10 in the near future either.

So, I have a weird idea for the next big thing in Clash of Clans. They should do Clash of Clans 2 but it STARTS with TH10 stuff (like art etc) but that is COC 2's TH1. All the upgrades drop down to cheap levels and then you can build up to like TH20 except the art is now future themed!

Maybe you missed it: They added new levels to the collectors in the last update. Those levels are only available at TH8+, so you're going to see that loot starting to increase as people get those collectors upgraded. I wouldn't be surprised to see another level added for TH9 or TH10 in the near future either.

I knew you would resort to abuse. Well I'm done with this thread, it's getting stupid and people are getting angry.

There's enough things to flesh out for TH10, and with the glacial pace of updates these days it will be some time before that's all done. For example level 13 cannons (ugh - level 12 AT was enough), a TH10-only dark troop, who knows what else maybe level 7 de drill, level 3 witches, level 5 healers, or something equally useless.

Personally I was TH7 when TH10 was first released, and now I'm fully maxed TH10 except walls and heroes - I'm having enough fun playing occasionally, with no desire to farm hard for walls or heroes, I certainly have no desire at all to go to TH11 whatever that might be, maxing TH10 defenses and troops was enough grind for one lifetime!

interesting, they probably release more dark troops into th10 before th11 though, just imo

I like the idea of adding new features to the game; something fun that does not take a lot of grinding. I'm not ready for TH11 and I won't be in a long time. I'm almost finished maxing out my TH10 but walls and heroes, and I would like to be able to enjoy attacking with whatever troops I want to, without having to worry about spending my resources. I also like clan wars and I lhave to limit myself to once a week so I can finish my upgrades.

I think that SC needs to give new and exciting directions to the game that do not involve a lot of upgrading.

They have a lot more to be done with de before ever considering a new resource. Even once de troops are done andhero's maxed I'd not want any more resources to worry about.

I'd like 3 squares to be added to each side of the board + 25 new walls. (But no new level YET)

Im a max def th10 and im just fine with that thank you. To all my fellow max th10s that are bored because there isn't much to do anymore.... Let's just find a new game. Sometimes things have to come to an end.

Playing clash for over two years now. I thinks that's some great innings for a game. No need to artificially trying to prolong it by introducing death by th11.

I agree that we have been playing this game for a LONG time.. BUT I dont want to find another game just yet..

One of the things that has kept me around for so very long is the awesome people that I have clashed with and still log in to chat to.. Im still farming (11 walls to go) but when im done i can imagine i will stick around for a month or two maybe pushing or going to sub for defense wins, im not sure yet.. but i know if i have nothing to farm for then i will probably lose interest fairly quickly. I hate wars so it wont be that that keeps my interest thats for sure...

By all means these people that dont want a TH11, dont upgrade, or go and find another game, thats cool if thats what you want to do, but why not give us maxed people something else to do?

Quite. I havent done any zaps yet, would sure rather grind out a new TH level and have new toys than grind out a billion on ugly walls.

It has been a long time since Town Hall 10 has been released.
I think that Town Hall 11 will be a very nice thing and here is some ideas:
1- Add one more storage for Gold and Elixir and one more level.
2- Add one more level for defenses except for Walls - Archer Towers and Mortars.
3- Add more defense.
3- Upgrades shouldn't exceed 10 million.
4- More powerful bases means more powerful troops means more troops upgrades.
5- New Elixir troops although I don't know how they will make it: Will they make a new barracks? Will they make a third row in the barracks and this means 5 more spaces for 5? Or make the row take 6 troops so there will be 2 more spaces for 2 troops?
6- New Resource and new barracks to train new troops with this new resource. Maybe it will be used to get a third hero? (If there will be a new hero I think the attacker must be able to take only 2 of his heroes to battle).
Maybe you will be able to use this new resource in more things.

This is what I have in my mind for now. Let me know what you guys think.

Personally I would like to see new TH's coming out. And while I think further updates should focus on features and adding other new fun ideas into the game, extending the base content should always be on the cards in some form or another.

Technically there is no real reason why they can't keep extending the content/number of levels on buildings etc indefinitely, so long as the certain game design principals are maintained.

1. Building cost. The actual cost of a building is irrelevant, what is relevant is the cost associated with the time it takes to get the resources required to make the upgrade, and the difficulty in keeping the said resources as you try to save up for them. Therefore there is no point on capping the actual gold limit of a storage of a base at any specific number. The game designer need to stop looking at the actual number and start looking at the comparative number. Stop thinking of it as TH9 or TH10 and starting looking it as top tier and so on.
in essence of you are a TH 10 everything below TH 7 is basically exactly the same, they can be ROFL stomped with half an army, an they won't give you any resources worth anything. What we should be taking from this is that as new content comes out it simply moves everything on.
So the game designers should be looking at it from an accessibility point of view. Currently there is an associated difficulty in surpassing certain mile stones, getting right to the top requires a different level of commitment to getting 1 step away from that. So the trick is to design it as such that when you create a new top tier, the previous top tier becomes more accessible, but the new top tier was equally as difficult to achieve as the current top tier was. This means that new players have the possibility of catching up no matter what the end of the game is, and current players who have reached the end will always be doing the latest things, but also doing things when they are at there most challenging.

So rather than adding more storage buildings increase the gold amount but balance the game. It will work if the designers know what they are doing.

2.Add to everything, why limit it, just roll it out over time to allow players to enjoy it.

3. There is one element which the designers should be wary of, base bloat. The map is only so big at some point there just isn't enough space. If they come up with a way to handle this problem, then yeah more, base equals more fun. Bear in mind the larger the base the longer it will take troops to destroy everything so it does have a number of balancing issue that need to be assessed.

3b. see point 1 but if I was to put a cap on numbers it would be the time not the resources, TH11 buildings should take the same time that current TH10 upgrades do, they should adjust all the older levels going backward to make this up. Thereby making now previous TH's more accessible. Retaining players on all levels of the game and increasing overall fun for everyone.
