"Jorge Yao pays for this game, so it's free for us"

There are 8.5 million people who play this game daily. Im so tired of reading posts which claim every update is "for" Jorge Yao and the leaderboard. I wish I had a breakdown of just how many people are TH9 lvl players, and their daily usage statistics, as well as if they've nearly maxed their bases — as well as other stats which I'm sure SC has, like stats on TH9 players which havent logged in as much as they used to due to boredom, etc.

The leaderboard does not pay to keep this game free for us. The fact is, SC cannot be worth nearly one billion dollars from 200 people using gems feverishly. The math is just not there. The bottom 8,459,500 players use more gems on a daily basis than the leaderboard ever could.

These updates are not "for" Jorge Yao, which so many people around the community continue to claim. These updates are something for us to look forward to, and something to keep us excited for, months before we get to that stage of being a bored TH9 with nothing really to do except chase trophies.

I whole-heartedly agree with this post.

CoC started off as a free game with in-app purchase. It will remain as free with in-app purchase regardless of whether or not ppl actually make those in app purchase.

So those who say that gemmers are paying so that non-gemmers can play for free are wrong. The game is free because it is the business model that SC decided to adopt.

Imagine if all updates catered for lower level Players...when you reached the top what would there be? Would there be any point to continue playing? I for one love having goals in this game. At the moment it is to completely max out my th7 base which I know is going to keep me busy...think of all those nice pink walls going to purple :)

so even though I cannot access the majority of the content coming out in this update i am quite happy to continue with my current goal and enjoy reading about the experiences of others at higher levels and watching the action on you tube.
One day I will be able to get there and will welcome that day...but until then I will continue plodding away and raiding to keep my builders busy...yes another goal is to never let them sleep :)

lower level players were helped out with a reduction in the amount of loot available which did not help out those with higher th levels!

I for one am looking forward to what else will be coming with this new th update!

Couldn't agree more.

Most annoying update is one that caters low levels only. Loot penalty is one of them. I mean we don't always stay low level. And this feels like it only penalizes high level THs.

Spoken by a lvl 71 TH8, or you freakin for real? Well I'm lvl 97 and TH9 and 80% of my def are maxed but my walls are only lvl8. Don't speak for me because I could quite happily wait another 12 months for this update, given the rediculous cost for researching, upgrading ( 3 mill per wall at lvl10), etc I'm in no hurry.

If you were maxed TH9 then your rant would have credibility but given your level it just comes across as plain nonsense.

Are you really complaining that the update came out before you were ready?

I hope not, because I hate people like that. "Oh no, I didn't max out my walls before the next update! Now no one will ever love me! Why can't Supercell just release updates whenever I say I want them!"

Why do people hate on adding town hall ten and nothing for lower levels. There is plenty stuff for lower levels,then you play until you are able to get the new stuff they add.

I'm not speaking for you hustla, I'm speaking against the low-mid level players whining. Which apparently includes you. My lvl and TH has no bearing in this. Since as a lvl72, that started in Feb, I've completely maxed my TH7 before moving on, which will likewise happen at all other levels.

More so Im speaking against the idea that Jorge Yao and the others keep this game free for us, but back to the topic at hand. So please explain how that's nonsense.

Perhaps, but ingame (or in this case in app) micro transactions is the business model that will generate a greater gross and net income for game developers and is here to stay.

Besides the great thing from a player perpective is that you now have the option of playing this great game for free should you so choose.

And returning to the topic, as a low to mid level myself I'm pleased to see that CoC is still getting support (and therefore investments) from SC. This bodes well for the future of this game and keeps me motivated to keep going and patiently (i don't gem) upgrade my base from TH lvl to TH lvl.
