Skeleton Traps

We're they really all that needed?

I mean, the amount of losses i see in war due to skeleton traps distracting troops from TH seems a bit much lately, even watching people attack me i know if i put my skelwton traps around my th then chances are once their troops get close they will be distracted for about 10s trying to kill off all of my skeleton trap troops while the rest of my Defence picks them off and ultimately forces them away from the TH

I notice this the most using dragons, Its pretty much ruined dragon attacks cause you can take out everyhting on way to th but if skeleton traps are around TH be prepared for you dragons to spend a good 10s traveling any which way to kill the skeleton troops and take your dragons away from TH where they get picked off. Its completely made the game about luck and not even about strategy.

Frustrating to say the least.

Going by the last bit which implies it can help a lot against drag attacks, which honestly are a bit op against th7, them yeah they were needed

I just accepted that there's an element of luck in every attack. Just gotta keep rolling the dice, and try to put the odds in your favor.

My bad, I was just turned th9 when they came out so didn't know, either way it's too easy to 3 star a th8 that doesn't have lvl6 air defense if you use drags, and even ones with lvl6 if it's a poor design so the point still stands

Keep in mind there is some strategy to their placement. If they are drawing your dragons, etc far away from where you targeted, I'd say they are working as intended. Offense still far outpaces defense. In my opinion skeleton traps were a welcome wrinkle to gameplay.

Errr... strategy?

So in this war attack I decided to go mass drag and snipe one of the air defenses with hogs. All proceeded as planned, except hogs triggered some skelly traps along the way. Which caused all my dragons to fly half way across the base to chase the skellys.

Meanwhile the hogs had moved on, resulting in a little train of units runing circles around the base.

Out of sheer luck the hogs died right as the reached the last air defense. Which then got killed by the dragons (helped by rage spell). :rolleyes:

I previously had failed to kill that last air defense because BK+barbs went the wrong way. If the skelly had not drawn the dragons in I would've failed the attack.

Where's the strategy in that? The 3 star CW attack was appreciated though it wasn't the result of my planning, but sheer luck.

At a max level its near impossible to beat a town using a dragon combo for TH10 that has 4 ad around TH.

Max Seeking air mines have enough to power to take a dragon from full down to 20HP away from being dead, basically an archer tower shooting it twice. Now, with 5 seeking air mines thats 5 dead dragons, Plus, Skelton traps, Air defence and other defences your pretty much screwed. I pride myself on being very good using 10 Dragons, 8 balloons and 7 Balloons in CC. I can always stare at a town and come up with my strategy, what I cant prepare for is how long it takes dragons to kill skeleton traps. Sure its good for defence, but has made beating MAX TH10 towns with 4 AD covering TH damn near impossible with air attacks.

There are no bombs on ground that are strong enough to take a pekka within a inch of its life so why are there with Air Units, Balloons have no way to defend themselves against Skeleton traps, and Dragons will chase them around making a good attack pointless... Ive literally watch dragons fly around a TH to get skeletons and leave the TH exposed with nothing around it. Just makes no sense making an army thats so expensive only for them to be so stupid to leave the TH to chase skeletons that cant even hurt the dragons. Witches pose the same issue. Theyre units are no threat to dragons yet a dragon will abandon a TH to chase witch skeltons.

I agree that the skelly traps, changes the planning out of a atk. Sorry that my thread wasn't as well worded.


Balloons have no defense against flying skellys and minions and dragons army all ways close enough to deal with them.

So yeah, it just happened again in CW we are currently in.

Raged dragons just on top of TH, ground skellies walk by, dragons chase skellies all the way out of the base. :(
