I will be hitting th 9 in 2 days, and still unsure on what troop to upgrade first. I normally farm gold/elix with barch + wbs and de with gibarch, which troop upgrade is the best to do first?

If you use em has to be giants
Archers are your best bet.
If you want to focus on DE farming first,then i will recommend Giants to 6
Archer => Barbarians => Giants. That was my way and it really helped me maxing th9

Troop upgrades are a somewhat individual thing imo, upgrade whatever you find yourself using the majority of your raids. personally i upgraded archers, now my barbs are almost level 6 and then i will have to decide between giants or balloons which i am still dwelling on.
Especially at Town Hall 9, if you use Barch or a farming composition that involves Barbarians or Archers, UPGRADE Barbarians first to level 6. This is because if you look at the overall stats when you upgrade them from 5 to 6, they get a larger spike in health, damage and other fuctionalities than Archers would overall. This makes them more of a difference in a raid and increases your chance of getting that money! ;)
Barbs then giants then archers. Barbs are cheap and fast and the biggest boost in total DPS for your army.Quote:

I did giants first. i dont use em much, i Barch almost all the time. But when i needed giants or clan did, glad i had level 6. Then i did archers, then i went off and did other things... like war troops. i have yet to do barbs. They are worth it but i barch without any issues using lvl 5 still. I think giants get the largest boost with the level 5 to 6 upgrade.
I love Archers and always researched them first at all my previous t'halls but at th9 I did Giants then Barbs.....then Archers!
I didn't use Giants before but they are very good at level 6, Barbs get a nice increase too so they really help as tanks when upgraded. So these two at level 6 along with your level 5 archers can cause some decent damage.
Archers are good too but their price goes up a fair bit and the strength increase is not as useful as the other two.
So if you can wait for a while for the purple haired beauty's then it's a good move.
But if you're a fan of all Archers.....go for healer:rolleyes:
