Lightning zapper on DE - why?

Just wondering why this is done?


I mean, I know why it's done, but what I don't understand is why you would do it just to open yourself up for revenge.....


In the past 2 days, Lightning zappers have hit me 3 times. All got around 1100 de from 4-5 lightning spells. This cost them roughly 100k+ elixer.....for 1k DE.


I scouted them, revenged them. The first one I got 150k gold, 200k elixer, and 1400 DE. So, how exactly did that work out for you?

The second one I got 100k gold, 90k elixer, and 1084 gold. Work out well for him?

The third, I got 233k gold, 310k elixer, and 1697 DE. See a pattern???



Also, all 3 of these "zappers" lost roughly 25 trophies ea to me. On my revenge, I got 40 trophies total on my revenge wins. So I gained over 100 trophies, as well as everything you took for me, AND MORE.

So, why would you open yourself up to this???????

Once in a while i look through my list but they all have shields or are online
Not worth wasting the time to go through the list

You're missing out IMO.

What's better than scouting a base prior to attacking it?? You know exactly what you're up against......then there's those trophies......I've seen 50+ on some of my revenges.

I have done this on 2 occasions and both is where I needed just 1-3K in DE for a lab upgrade and didn't have time to deploy troops or raid due to life. Plus I didn't want to get raided and lose anymore I was saving.
That's the only time I can think of doing it.

I zap because it's worth it. As a farmer myself, I am rarely open for revenge, and even when I am, The people I zap cannot steal nearly enough from me to compensate for the amount I stole. :cool: Bring on the hate!

Edit: Plus, I only zap farmers, so i don't lose trophies.

If every person they zapped resulted in them having -300 DE, then they probably wouldn't do it. So maybe not everyone revenges them, or maybe those that do revenge them badly, or maybe they just don't keep that much DE long enough for it to be stolen.

because they know that you are too amazing, so that they know they don't stand a chance againts you and just zap your DE instead of wasting armies.

I generally dont zap as a rule, when I farm I leave my TH in a nice easy position so someone can take the win and gain trophies. I do this so I can build up my resources in peace and quiet without having to have a shield. However once in a while some numpties choose to attack me and plunder my goods. It is there choice. It is my choice to revenge attack with zap zap zap lightning lvl 5 on there d e or gold or elixar....prefer d e as slow to build. If they also have left there town hall outside I think it only fair to repay the compliment and destroy it, taking an easy win and d e and NO REVENGE ATTACK POSSIBLE

if i am attacking bases i leave the farmers alone, what goes around comes around.

The only time I have zapped DE was back at TH7 to help get the original 10K to unlock my king. I would raid for DE also, but then zap if there is more than 1,000 available. Now there is a drill at th7 so that isn't as much of a challenge as it used to be. Zappers have probably made mistakes with their upgrades and aren't strong enough to get at DE storages.

Personally, at TH8 now I have more DE than I really know what to do with. Maxed BK and upgrading Golems now. Once your army is strong enough to get into the hard to get at DE storages I don't know why you would carry lightning and not rage & heal. I use a giant army composition and raid for mostly gold, hardly ever specifically looking for DE but have accumulated enough along the way.
