You just made my day. Super cell should really make a setting for special effects, just like Music and sound effects
The snow effects get very old and annoying after a few weeks, i'm glad to see it go.

Yeah I only noticed today too, unless it happened today? I quite like the snow and sad to see it go. The snowy season is only just beginning here in the UK. Would love to see other themes too. Like a Chinese new year themed clash of clans...how cool would that be? With red lantern decorations around the town hall and blossoms growing on the trees.
They've been saying the Xbox glitch could only be fixed in an update. Hopefully it is taken care of.

Trees will still be there.
I for one am glad they took the snow away, I get vertigo / dizziness pretty easily and that snow messed with my head often.
Did you guy's clan chat also reset?
i actually still have it in my iphone and i only lost the theme on my ipad, after i manually updated the client...

Same thing happened to me. I logged onto my iPad and saw no snow, so I went and looked at my App Store and saw that there was an update and it was optional... Needless to say I was a bit sad, don't seem to have that Christmas spirit now
