Question about buying 14000 gems

Don't gem buildings,

Get the rest of your builders first thing.

From there you should only gem lab time (when you have enough for the next research) and boosted barracks.

When you boost barracks be sure to have a builder free for walls as you will most likely pull 4-6 million of each resource (after which is also a good time to gem research)

Research is by far the biggest bottleneck at 8. You'll burn through the gems way too quickly if you do buildings (to start at least) and be stuck with a ton of research left

I dont know who told you it takes 5 months to max out th 8... you can max th8 and skull walls in a month if you boost your barracks and farm enough. Thats what i am doing! NO PIGEONISM

Buy the 5th builder and stop here. Anything else is truly a waste.

Park your TH outside.

If you do GEM anything GEM time not resources.

Also don't talk about TH8 taking a longtime. TH9 is like a brand new game. I been TH9 for more than 9 months and I am still not maxed.

Buy all builder huts for sure, no question. Wait for your TH8 to complete and go in with completely full max Elixir and gold storage.

When you are there:

Insta build the lab with gems and then insta upgrade at least archers. That will get you some starting power.

Build all the new walls and new buildings(except second dark barracks for now) and get them all to a TH7 level asap. Use your gold to upgrade walls to gold at least, right away.

Use gems to boost barracks and make as much as you can in 2-4hrs every day. When you get enough gold or elixir to upgrade something, use gems to finish the building that is closest to completing and start a new one.

DON'T GEM RESOURSES!! They are a waste of gems, and raiding is the fun part of the game. Just don't do it, its too easy with boosted barracks.

You will need to gem lab troops the most, as they take longer than the buildings. Just get to a decent point and then slow down, it's not a race. Eventually, just use gems to boost barracks. Try to get your BK to 5 also, asap.

There is 143 days (4.8 months) of lab research time at TH8.

Here is what I would:

Buy 5th builder right away. Do not gem the TH, just wait to finish, in the mean time try to get a level or two on your king. Boost your barracks and make sure you time your TH in way that once the upgrade of TH is complete, you have full storages - both gold and elixir, DE not important.

Once at TH8, there is not spell factory upgrade, only Lab. So start the lab upgrade and gem it, but only if you have enough elixir to start an upgrade right away. If you do, or when you have enough elixir, gem the lab and start the upgrade. Repeat this process till you have your farming troops upgraded (barbs, archers, giants, WBs, whatever you use). After that do not use gems anymore and just use them to boost barracks and farm. You will make crazy loot as TH8 with boosted barracks and the game will be more fun.

When you have spare elixir, I would recommend you prioritize your DE drills. Get both to max level as soon as possible.
