Just wondering, why is the X-bow a big priority to get when you reach Town Hall 9? It costs 3,000,000 gold and has 50 dps, a little bit higher than an archer tower at level 8, and also has a bit more range. And archer towers cost a lot less... I saw another thread with some one asking what to do first when he got to town hall 9, and a large majority of people said to get his 2 X-bows as a priority over upgrading his splash defenses.
Upgrading splash defenses - your base is weaker
getting xbows - your base gets stronger
The scare factor. People ignore a base with xbow more easily than bases without them. Plus, if you set it to shoot ground only, it has a huge radius so you can put it close to middle and it still reaches everywhere. Splashers upgraded and xbows in the yard is almost an automatic 'next'.
It's so much nicer at level 3 and 4

I am lvl 95 with maxed splah defences ...
When I hit TH 9 first i upgraded lab to 7 to start all lvl 6 troops.
Next upgrades were all mortars.
Then i did all wizz towers to lvl 7.
And after that I did start both xbows.
Xbows truly sucks imo compared to splash dmg mortars and towers.
BUT ... the only TRUE value of them is to SCARE people attacking you.
Its your choice what to do, but I can tell you lvl 7 mortars and wizz towers SCARE people EVEN MORE :)
