Are elixir walls and lightning rods ruled out in Ideas and Feature Requests???

So in the last few days, and especially today, I've seen threads about elixir walls or for protecting DE storage, which just disappeared. I assume they got deleted. I was actually trying to reply in one thread a couple hours ago, and when I finished typing my reply and clicked the post reply button, it told me I didn't have access, so I tried to reload the thread, and it told me the same thing, and that's when I checked the forum and saw that it wasn't there anymore.

I know that ruled out ideas get deleted automatically. But so far, the ruled out sticky doesn't say that elixir walls or lightning rods are ruled out. So why are the threads being deleted? Can't they just be closed and/or maybe moved somewhere else?

(Don't get me wrong, I'd like the lightning rods to get ruled out, but until they are, why are we deleting the threads?)

I wish they were ruled out, so sick of seeing the same horrible ideas regurgitated on a daily basis.

But it is repeatedly posting ideas that have been suggested before, which is also against forum rules.
Only one thread for each topic is needed :)

They aren't on the Sticky for Ruled out however there is such a huge push (that I am a part of) to keep these ideas from getting added to clash that they just get tons of "No"s and shot down by the community I can see them being added to the ruled out section soon.

Okay, that makes sense. But then shouldn't they just merge it all into one big thread, or move them, or something like that? I put a lot of time and thought into some of my replies in those discussions, and it's just... gone...

Agree, but the volume of them is probably just too much for the mods to keep up with.

Yes mods actually are doing this :) they merge multiple threads of the same matter in the most popular thread (normally) :)

Another thing they could do is a 'popular requests' sticky for those not yet ruled out.

Have a topic that is well discussed linked to it, any new posts either merge with it or just close them. Linking to the main discussion thread.

Totally incorrect, as long as some new info is added to the idea a new thread is fine, the mods have confirmed this many times, as much as the forum police hate it this is not against the rules

There is no new info in these threads, it's the same thing, over and over,. It's not the forum police, it's forum users who would like to find threads other than 15 elixir for walls, 12 lightning rod and 8 war opt out threads. I know some love those same three threads over and over but most don't.


in case you missed the obvious point to the OP, the mods close these repeated threads.
