I'm in champs as a th9 and I spend about 20 minutes looking for a base and I caan't be on all day. Should I drop? I really don't have the time to maintain being in champs.

Unless you're farming in champ. Not much point staying there.
Get out of there asap
I would only stay IF:
You think you can get to Champ for the 2000 gem reward for the achievement.
OR
You can farm good loot there.
No other reason to stay

I was at 3320 last week and sniped de down till I was at Crystal 3! Made 90k in 2h while dropping
Go down slowly and collect DE on your way down.
