A thought about collectors and town hall outside base

Hi i'm pretty new here in clash of clan, and i'm currently have problem regarding collectors and town hall outside base.

1. I'm now at TH 6 and currently upgrading to TH 7 (1 more days ^_^). I read a few guide about TH 7 defense layout and i've seen many layout that put town hall outside the base. At first i was confuse, but now i know that it's farming base and also to get the 12 h shield. But i wonder what to do with the 12 h shield (if online), i usually raid even thought i have to sacrifice the shield. So, i think it's pretty pointless to put town hall outside the base. Unless i got attacked before sleep and happen to get 12 h.

2. But i give it another thought again, and i come up with passive collector during the shield duration. About this collector, my friend told me : "Don't upgrade it cause raiding is better and a LOT faster than collector". Also i notice that higher level it cost a lot of time to upgrade (i heard level 10 to level 11 need 4 days? wow @_@), and i seriously think it's better to upgrade defense so i can protect storage.

I think that one reason (besides the shield) that explains why farmers put the town hall outside is that when they get attacked by a trophy hunter, he will ignore the storages and go only for the town hall. Probably.

put your th outside if u are farmer, which u should be. why would u want to trouble yourself to put the th out and in, out and in? just leave it outside. and max your collectors. they give me tons and tons of never ending resources daily.

I agree. 6 lvl 11 collectors will give 18k/hr. In 24 hours, that's gonna be 432k!

The shield is great because it prevents high level people from attacking you. The way I see it, you'll be attacked at least once every night. If your TH is outside, there's a good chance that the one attack is from a trophy hunter who takes the TH and leaves the rest of your base alone. If the TH is inside, you're more likely to get attacked by a farmer, and more likely to be attacked multiple times.

As far as the mines/collectors, I agree. You get resources faster from raiding, so you don't need to worry about them so much. I only upgrade them when I have a worker free and no resources or time to raid. As a casual player with a job, this is actually quite often.

Hello barbarior. I'm a little concerned that you said you were new to the game and you are almost town hall 7.
I don't know how long you have been playing but I'd like to say that it is a bad idea to upgrade your town hall too fast. I would recommend that you take a bit of time looking around the forum and reading about how important it is to at least max your offense and defenses before upgrading your town hall. A lot of players quit due to upgrading their town hall too fast. There is a loot penalty for higher level town halls.

About the shield, it is just a good way to protect your resources, there is a lot of players whom are just after trophies. If they see your town hall outside, they will destroy it and hopefully leave everything else alone since it would waste their troops to continue after they already won.

I personally have maxed mines and collectors although I don't consider it is necessary to upgrade them past level 7/8 if you raid a lot. It brings more loot into the game! :) ...to upgrade your mines and collectors, that is.

Why protect your TH? trophies don't matter and only upgrades your mines/collectors when you have a builder to burn
