WHY do people trap Town Halls? Answer below please.

I just don't understand:

I constantly snipe Town Halls and then Trophy drop, and if someone traps their Town Hall---WHY??? Why would they be so stupid? They WANT a shield, and they're losing like 25k Gold every time they are sniped!!!!!!! I just get mad and 100% them, they're SOOO dumb.

Oh, sorry guys. I just wanted to see if there are any TH Trappers on the Forum that can help me understand why they would do this…

I don't do it but I think it's funny to see people's reaction to it the few times I have. At lower trophy levels I can see it more cause the loot bonus isn't as much but after masters I don't see the point

unbreakable (ppl say screw that and leave or just fail)
fun (yes ppl like to see others rage and send troops like headless chicken)
to force the attacker use bigger army only on th so less to take their precious ressources
because they've felt the shame of attacking trapped th in their earlier stage of clash and now want vengeance (or think it is the way it should be?)

Some people really don't want a shield. By the way, they lose 1k gold if no storages/collectors are attacked.

Who cares if they trap it, it's their 25k. Maybe they just aren't so intense that 25k makes a big difference to them and they want to make some people squirm a little. Sorry you can't get as many free resources sniping as you want to. And if they get you to 100% them when they don't have many resources then who's the one wasting resources and time? (answer: you)
