In the spirit of the War feature, I can understand the many that scoff at the underdogs that want to throw in the towel instead of at least trying.
However, on the flip side, why would anybody turn down free loot?
The strategy is very easy and will relieve stress on both sides of the lopsided match.
UNDERDOG:
With the release of the multi-layout editor, have the clan build bases with the Town Hall off in a corner by itself. Be clean about it (no sense in being banned for trying to be funny) but have everybody save a 'White Flag' base. The uber-powered opponent can send in just the Heroes for the Town Halls, earning the loot bonus for absolutely no cost to them.
OVERMATCH:
Offer a consolation prize for your opponent knowing that a snowball has a better chance of surviving in a volcano. Have the top two (or really, any single in the top three) use the 'White Flag' concept from above so that the underdogs can send in their Heroes for the Town Hall, costing nothing but earning the thirty percent loss bonus. You still win by a large margin, don't have to build the expensive troops to do so, and reap the benefits of Uber-Loot.
Why this strategy?
Every single player shares one thing in common: they are human beings (Well, except the Macro Attack fellas) and as such have the same emotions. I have watched Clans that mine has dominated implode, and have seen mine barely hold together after a royal whipping. This would hopefully add a level of sportsmanship to the game, even if we are all war-mongering Overlords.
Highly doubtful and optimistic I know, but somebody has to try. It's certainly better than sniping at each other via the description (something many of us are learning is a no-no with SC) and doing the Report a Clan/twenty-four hour ban game.
Of course, if/when the matching system is tweaked for better War pairings, then this would become a moot point. Until then, Keep Calm and Clash On.
