Is there anyway for the 4th free builder

I wasn't playing then but I believe there were a lot less achievement gems and obstacle gems back in 2013 when this thread is from.

You can get the third builder pretty much fresh out of the tutorial (and a few days). The fourth is possible in late TH6, early TH7 if you do a minor push to reach 1250 trophies (450 gems). The fifth is doable by late TH7, early TH8. (5 months into the game).

You'll earn the remaining 550 gems over about two months (or less). You get at least 6 per day from clearing obstacles. Gem boxes add probably 2-3/day on top, call it 2, for 8 per day. That means after about 70 days you'll have saved the 550 needed gems just from clearing obstacles. A couple achievements will make that happen even faster.

At TH7, you can do a push a fairly easy push to Masters (snipe only obviously safe TH, have at least 2M gold before starting, last 200 is slow) if you want for another 1,250 gems. (250 at Crystal, 1,000 at Masters). The remaining 750 for the 5th builder would take about 95 days with no other achievements. (3 months).

So it's not that hard if you never spend gems to have all 5 builders after 5 months.

Clash of Clans wikia disagrees with you. I'm not saying that they're right and you're wrong, just need more data to determine why the difference in statements.

Their article on Obstacles states 2 gems per on average with a spawn every 8 hours. It doesn't clearly state if the Gem Box is in addition or replaces an obstacle, nor do they comment on the gem box frequency.

I would appreciate more evidence documenting why 8. What have you noticed? Why is that the number you quote? Mine came straight from the wikia, no personal data gathering. I am going to start paying attention to my cleared obstacles on an alt or two to see if their information is wrong.

Master League achievement gives you enough

true. played that year and they increased the gems dropped from removing obstacles somewhere beginning/mid 2014. achievements were there already though.

Whew. No problem. I'm very interesting in accuracy in my beliefs/understanding. Thank you for mentioning when you thought differently from me. It provided an opportunity to improve our joint understanding.

I'm glad that now I don't have to track gems, I can go on blithely trusting Clash of Clans wikia without verification. Not the best policy I know.
