Witches or Golems

Ok, I have an iTunes gift card left over from Christmas my fiance got me. I have nothing to spend it on other than CoC....

I use GoWiPe, GoWiWiPe, GoWiWi for clan wars mainly. However, I am relatively new TH9 and don't have my golems or witches upgraded yet, I neglected the golems as a TH8 because we didn't war very often. However, we are trying to do that more and I am focusing on my warring units. I already have level 3 pekkas (4 days left). So, my question is, for the strategies listed above, which should I gem first? I am going to gem them up without farming the DE just because I have the iTunes card and I won't use it on anything else. So, for the ones who have upgraded them, which will give me the best return on my investment sooner? Please keep the negative comments about gemming them out of this convo as it's not needed.

In September I asked on forum the same question...the majority voted witches and so I did them...but I'm convinced that the right choice was golem

Can you share why? I'm not saying you're wrong because honestly I have no idea. I just would like some reasoning behind the answer.

I know witches are a better troop donation - as I am the highest player in our clan. I won't be donating many witches unless they specifically ask for them, bc most people want the lvl 5 wizards.

Because tanks are more valuable...they protect heroes, pekkas, heroes, witches, heroes, wizards, heroes...moreover...in new strategies involving air troops you firstly send in a golem and heroes to destroy exposed AD

But they don't protect heroes right? haha jk

Thanks for the advice, I wanna hear a few more peoples inputs before I click the button, but I do think that's a good way to go. Either way, I am probably going to gem them, then finish them immediately and then start the other one but won't have enough to gem it to completion.

Golems. They are the only troop used in all of the comps that you mentioned. I hear GoWiWi doesn't even start to shine until your heroes are higher lvl, and I am assuming yours aren't because you said you are a relatively new TH9.

I myself am a mid TH9. Just got golems to 4, doing loons to 6, then going for witches. My AQ is lvl 12 and BK is 10.

Yeah, my BK is going to 9 now and my AQ is 5. Is there a significant jump at any point for the golems like there is for balloons going to 6 or giants to 6? I know the jump for the witches is pretty high, but so far that's 3 for golems and 0 for witches...

Anyone else have an opinion? I would love to hear from a few more people :)

my answer, max golems and go with gowipe. Then after you max witches you can start throwing in witches

Yeah, I have level 3 pekkas in a few days and golems are just 1 and wizards are obviously lvl 5.. what is max golem for TH9 lvl 4?
