Not another dark elixer zapping thread!!

I apologise in advance guys but this thread is not what you think it is. Im not here to rant and say things need to change, I'm simply asking a question to an aspect of the game that annoys high level town halls. However in my opinion dark elixer zapping is apart of the game so we live it.
Also I'd like to add that I'm not one of those TH10 bullies who farms in silver or gold (those guys deserve to get zapped). I usually farm in màsterś league, but I'm in crystal two right now as my heroes are upgrading.
Now that's out of the way here's the question; what annoys you the most when somebody zaps your dark elixer storage?
For me it's not that they are taking a huge amount of resources and my dark elixer reserves are going backwards. I gain nearly 3000 dark elixer per night just from my drills so it isn't an issue for me. Also it's not that I take it to heart when I loose resources either, I take a lot more than i give so that doesn't bother me.
There are two reasons dark elixer zapping bothers me;
- firstly; I don't believe they deserve to get dark elixer for doing something so cowardly.
- secondly; I don't believe a TH7 or TH8 should be able to take recources from a TH10 (unless I go inactive or give it away) when I can't take anything from them due to the loot penalty's. I would honestly rather loose 800k in resources to a great attack than get zapped so cowardly. By the way that actually happened to me last night as my inferno towers were upgrading, then the next defence I got zapped for 1000 dark elixer by a TH7 which is mostly the reason I've made this thread.
If you took the time to read this thread I'd like to thank you and ask you what you think? Does it annoy you as well for whatever reason? Or are you just not fazed by it?

I'm losing a lot of trophies to some of the lower THs, just means they're getting smart. And could get rid of the color coding stuff in your post, really hurt my eyes to read that.

i think it's getting worse because of the rise in town hall snipers. But the thing is, if I leave my town hall inside I get zapped multiple times instead of just one.

I just dont like that fact that it is obviously against the way the game is meant to played. You shouldnt be able to take so many of my resources without giving me a shield. The only way you get a shield is by having your TH out which isn't the way the game is meant to be played. If you have your TH in with 50k+ dark its basically suicide in gold or crystal just crazy.

Who says that a th7 can't raid you? No one says you can't raid back, you actively choose not to because it isn't worth your time monetarily. But if you wanted to, you could flatten their base without a second thought. Th10s are the king of the hill, but it doesn't meant that a fly can't bother him from time to time.

I accept it's part of the game, I did zapped as a low hall; and get zapped as a high hall.

But this part of it has never made made sense to me.

I knew as a TH7 I could zap with impunity, even if a TH9 or TH10 revenged me I would lose next to nothing and get a 12 to 16 hour shield - I considered that a massive win. Poke the bears for a cheap shield, far better than a TH8 farmer finding me.

I knew that was just ridiculous - but at the same time would be crazy not to take advantage of it. Especially as when I did it way back then DE storage's had less HP. That gave even bigger zap returns.

But if a hall 2 or more below zaps me. They hide behind serious loot protection rules, offering me only 50%, or worse 25% in return.

9 times out of 10 it's completely inefficient to even try raid any tiny amount back. And there is no league bonus there either to assist.

But as I said before, I did it when I was a low level; so fully accept a few coming back my way.

Just enact a policy of revenge.

If I get zapped, then I'll revenge. If they won their loot fair and square, then I ignore it. If you want to, just troll them. Place bombs and stuff around your TH. Problem solved.


SC didn't ban this strategy or prevent the use of it at the beginning when it was first introduced, why should they do that now? No amount of complaining is going to change it.

In saying this I just voided my whole argument with my latest raid a few minutes ago. I took 480k total loot from a th8. It's like supercell knows I just posted this thread o.O

I can understand that, those that never used the tactic as a low hall would hate been the victim of it now. But there is no ethics in war, you do whatever it takes.

I zapped the hell out of TH10s when I was TH7. And proud of it. Get out the gold leagues or get zapped!

Once I hit TH8 I storage raided a lot more, and storage raided exclusively TH9 & TH10 [bar the hall trapper :cool:]

Given my drills cook a nice 7,200 DE a day, whatever I lose to zappers is immaterial anyway. And they often shield me too, I consider that a fair trade. I never revenge TH7 or TH8 zappers. Only TH9 or TH10 ones if they have loot worth taking.

I havent zapped in a while and cuz i realized 3 lightning spells wasnt worth 100-300 DE cuz i could easily earn that im in town hall 8 now so the DE drill are helping me also

same here bro... if i get zapped i use mass dragon attack (which i dont use at all in regular attack but only in war) then i 3 star them teach them who the BOSS is!

Sorry if you have taken it this way but that is not my intention, I know that dark elixer zapping has been apart of the game since the beginning and it always will be. I just wanted to see how other high levels felt about zapping and whether I'm right or not to not like it.

Whether or not you like or dislike something is up to you. Just come up with a plan to deal with it. You can be the "You will all fall to the power of my dragons DIEEEE!!!!" or you can go with the "it's cool, fine. I don't care"

Personally I go with the former. Personally, I don't particularly like it. If people get greedy with the DE zapping (which they do, though I'm finding myself getting gold zapped right now) I trap my TH a little bit to dissuade people, I also go revenge those who do not earn it fairly. If they zap me to get the 50% then I guess (as long as it's not my DE, elixir, or gold) I'm fine with that.

I agree with you th10s do not belong anywhere near gold league which is why I won't go any lower than 2200 trophies. Also your right that there arnt any rules in war. I mean a lot of countries have done some pretty cowardly things in the past.

Actually there are technically some rules in war, mainly biochemical warfare.

My TH7 has nothing left to use elixer one, just waiting to max out walls, and well BK.

Since I have too much elixer, I don't mind zapping DE storage. Even for a few hundred, since I would only be wasting elixer leaving my storages full.

Might as well, right? and helps to fund my bk upgrade.

If you don't like that someone zapped you, you probably can revenge them.

You will likely get some elixer, but little gold.

Oh and you may get your DE back.

Saying it is cowardly is your opinion. I don't see how it is. I would rather be zapped than have a hi lvl raid on me.

It is a numbers game. It happens to all of us. Just be happy it isnt a more detrimental raid on ur loot.

Im a new TH8 but I dont see any issue with zapping.
When I was TH7 after my BK reached to lvl5 in non stop upgrade, I always sit on full DE storage with 20K DE. many times attackers zap me even when I put my DE storage in the outer walls where they simply could get it with 10 minions or 50 archers. So I just laugh at them and share replays.
even TH8 sometimes zap me hard for DE. I had excess DE and I even thank them for giving my excess DE to the system.

What annoys me most is I removed more than 100K DE from the system because my DE was always full
Now IM a 6 days old TH8 and I need DE badly. I farm for DE in Crystal 3 and 2 but whenever I see my BK upgrading is near to finish I zap other TH9 and TH10 DE storages.
I dont boost spell factory so I need to wait 30 minutes for each light. It is not a simple and straightforward attack and zappers are not cowards. the zapper should sacrifice 3 lights = 60K elixir + 1.5 H time to collect 1000 DE.

I think there is a problem is the Match Making System. I heared that someone in Crystal attacked someone in Champion.

Dont kid yourself, at least give us something to protect the most precious resource in the game. I would like to see them give us another dark elixir storage and make it more hit points just so that when they zap they would get less. My biggest issue with the whole idea of zapping is that there is no way of protecting yourself from it. The only Th immune to a spell is th 10 regarding heal spells. At least give us a way to protect it. All i get is revenge zaps all day if i have any dark elixir available.

How often do you get zapped at 2200+ trophies? I am looking through my entire defensive logs and I see two zappings (which is more often than usual, but both times the attackers only used a single spell to zap me which makes me think they always zap DE storages and thus only had one spell available because the others were used zapping earlier opponents). I frequently have 2500+ DE available and feel that zapping is quite rare.

As a whole, zapping doesn't bother me because it encourages people to put their town halls out. Too many TH10's think that because they have inferno towers to protect their loot they don't have to help the economy by putting their town halls out for an easy league bonus. Zapping helps show these players that their town hall belongs out since it will generally result in far fewer zaps.

I have 6 on my defnce log right now but I don't normally have that many, usually only 2 or 3 maximum. All are a mix between 3 and 4 lightning spells used.

I have 15 on my defense log currently. I dont need it at the moment, but being as though there is no way to defend it what am i supposed to do. People can try and sugar coat it any way they want. Its a cheap tactic that we should be able to at least attempt to defend.

Gold 3, I have found alot of Gold down here, I am using both elixir and gold to finish my walls. I dont want to have to use spells every time so this has been the most efficient league for me to farm in. I get sick of hearing people talk about where town halls shouldnt farm and such. But why not be where the loot is.

I normally don't even bother looking but I checked my logs... turns out he was a TH8 I barched to rubble and took 1800 DE off (along with all his Gold and Lix - think he was saving up for the move to TH9) during my last session. So I felt for the guy, and hoped he was all pumped up when he zapped me. Maybe it brightened his day.

is this really a problem I only get zapped at most twice a week, and I just had 75,000 dark in mine for a week waiting for a upgrade to finish before I started another,,,I find these post funny cause it really doesn't seem to be a problem I have, and if it really bothers you just revenge them you might not get resources back. but hey at least your teaching them a lesson:rolleyes:, ♥♥♥♥

Well with a bit of reading between the lines its pretty easy to deduce. Supercell obviously thinks the same as they increased the DE storage health to somewhat counter it. But like I said in my post as you get a shield at 40% destruction this means an attacker will not be able to take a large amount of your loot without giving you a shield, except when they zap your dark elixir. They can take a massive amount of dark elixir without giving you a shield (unless you have your TH out but that's also not the way supercell originally aimed for the game to be played), so you can get zapped hundreds of times in a row theoretically.

Actually that havent happened much since the 1 gem spell factory boost ended. At TH7/8 I only did that when I need the last few hundred DEs for BK upgrade. It sucks not having some spell for protection when raiding - its actually better to just use 2 lighting and strategically zap a mortar (usually next to an upgrading one) or a wiz tower and help a barch army gets into the core.

Revenge zapping? Waste of lix. I'd rather keep the revenge option for two weeks until storages are full.

There only time that I get annoyed about being zapped is when a better th9 than me (im only a low-mid th9) or a th10 zaps me, particularly when they had a good enough army with them to take a portion of my gold and elixir too. This happens surprisingly often too
