dark elixir protection

i know that this thread has been made many times but I'm really feed up with barchers in clash of clans. it sucks that when you reach the 80K range for th9 people thunder your dark as soon as you get offline. i feel like the lightning spells need to be nerfed or not be allowed for a way to get dark. its a very difficult resource to get i spend 25 mins making a army just to get dark elixir thundered when i go offline for sec. players really need to learn how to break into bases and get the dark. im not given any option on how to protect my dark because it really takes no strategy to thunder dark please supercell fix this on going issue. 90% of the players who farm use this method to get dark have them learn the hard ways thank you:)

Question, is your TH outside your base? A huge majority of people would then zap your DE storage and then snipe your TH. That would leave you with a 12 hour shield rather than having your base zapped over and over again until you finally pick up a shield off of a 50% attack or so.

Lightning Spells shouldn't be nerfed against Dark Elixir, as they cost quite a bit of elixir and take 30 minutes to make. I know that having your storage zapped is very annoying, and I have experienced this myself. The fact that 90% of farmers use lightning spells to steal dark elixir is not true. But here are a few tips to try and preserve your DE from zappers:

- Put your TH on the outside so that you'll only get zapped once per 12 hours.
- Buy shields with gems so that you can't get attacked.
- Upgrade your DE storage so that it looks more empty and is more 'lightning-proof'

Those tips should be able to help preserve your Dark Elixir. If you choose not to use them, then you will just have to deal with your DE storage being zapped for the time being. Also, you shouldn't create a new thread about DE protection against Lightning Spells. You should instead go and support a different thread.

trust me dude i dont carry 50k dark elixir im a th9 an been here for a year my barb king is going to level 22 and queen level 27. i use giants to break defense to get the dark not some cheap shot. why when people see post like they get offended. when you reach my level of carrying 120k+ you will understand. dude i have my townhall outside and don't say 90% of farmers dont barch because if i show you my defense log and your go to there army camps thats all they use with 4 lighting spells that takes no skills. its a cheap shot every time you go offline. im very confident about my defense that they wont take it unless they use 4 spells such as rage and heals with there heros.

I really don't care how much Elixir people have spent when they tap their finger 5 times and take over a thousand DE. This is a strategy game, and I don't count tapping your finger 5 times to bypass all defences and steal the DE, when the other guy has done everything they can to protect it. Lightning spells were not intended to zap DE, and that is for a good reason.
People shouldn't have to spend their gems on shields to avoid skillful players practising their finger tapping prowess.

I can't help but laugh at these. I have always heard either spend it or lose it, and my fine friend you look as though you chose the lose it. Besides it is a strategy game, and yes before you ask i do zap de from people. It's easy and quick resources and yes i do get zapped back. Without zapping people would just use other ways as grabbing it. Stealing resources is the game to be honest and i know a bunch of people would honestly agree in it staying the same as it has.

I can't help but laugh if you expect him to spend his DE on something when he doesn't have enough for the upgrade, because people are using their finger tapping prowess on him. Without zapping, people would actually have a chance to keep their DE, which they earned by giving other people a chance to keep theirs. The game is meant to be about fun and skill, not about tapping your finger 5 times and ending up with a lot of the opponent's hard-earned loot.

thank you!! there a bunch of noobs who all they do it zap DE. and they are on this post and disagreeing. one day when they have to carry 120k dark to upgrade heroes they will be making this post. i just find it really unfair supercell that us th9/10 have hard time finding loot to just get zapped for 1,500 k de in one strike. the game has changed and it always changing over time i been playing since august of 2013. alot of player dont play thats why alot of people use barch and i dont blame them honestly easy loot from collectors not the same when i started people used giants to get to storages. btw buying a shield is not use to protect DE thats used to protect yourself in champion league when your on vacation. its wouldnt be wise to spend 100 gems every time dont you think?

You should "entice" the enemy to attack your dark elixir storage by making it look nearly empty of defense and place all your traps around it. After dedicating troops, they will have no choice but to zap it with lightning. By then, they spent way too much on the army to get the DE. Then, I just way after my shield is up to and collect the DE that makes up for the loss and do a full raid on the guy and just decimate his village for zapping me. Either way, they spend more elixir for a smaller reward.

I stumbled upon this just by accident. I noticed people zapping me but then I shrug it off because my collectors replenished the loss. I was hovering around 35k DE for a long time. Around that amount, people kept going for the DE no matter how empty I left my other side of my village.

The problem with people, is that they always say to go to a higher league if you get zapped, They don't know that some low level people trophie push there just to zap. I would take revenge on zappers, but they always have a shield

I am a master class so I don't know if that is what you mean by 'the noobs here'.

I do not zap DE because it is s stupid waste of time. it costs too much to zap, I can get a lot more spending that same money on a raid.

I do not mind getting zapped because they get a lot less from me than if they raid me. Earlier this week I had a Champion zap just over 1700 of my almost 4K available using 5 max level lightning spells. That's 175K and 2.5 to make those spells. A Champion is strong enough to level my base and take everything. So I was very happy just getting a little zap instead. he was nice enough to drop a couple wiz to knock down my TH in the corner too so in the end that was just a cheap shield.

So I don't want them taking zap away because I prefer losing less loot over losing more loot.

I think having your TH on the outside is part of the problem. A zapper can take your TH for an easy win. If your TH was on the inside, then the zapper would either have to take a loss (which is quite expensive to them if they are trying to stay up in the crystal leagues where DE is abundant) or the zapper has to fight for 50%. I think zappers stay away from bases with the TH on the inside and flock to those with THs on the outside.

I also think the elimination of L7 & L8 walls for elixir makes this problem worse. Before the original walls-for-elixir update and after the repeal, my friends and I were/are swimming in elixir. Therefore, we have to assume the zappers are also swimming in elixir with nowhere to spend it but on lightning spells. If SC would let them spend elixir on walls again, I bet zapping would decrease. Furthermore, availability of gold will increase because people aren't spending gold on walls! Yeah yeah, people say "but elixir was scarce during that time!" Based on my experience, it wasn't. I had no problem getting enough.

I've made this proposal before, which will stop zapping and encourage wimpo barch looters to try harder: Make it so the the first hitpoints on a storage proportionally destroy the empty portion first, while the remaining hitpoints destroy the full portion. For example, if a storage has 1000 hitpoints and it is 30% full, then an attacker gets nothing for the first 700 hitpoints, then the last 300 hitpoints contain all the loot. It stops zapping because the zaps will only destroy the empty portion (unless your storage is almost full) and it also forces looters to make a better effort to completely destroy resource buildings rather than just sprinkle barches everywhere. Those of us who already launch strong attacks will not be affected by this change. No lightning rods or nerfing necessary.

Would you rather some noob zaps, takes about 2k, or some high level steamrolls your base and takes 10k?

Not to be that guy. But 10k is a huge exaggeration. Even 2k doesn't happen . But anyone with a brain gets your point. Lightning attacks are a minor annoyance at best.

Okay I checked out your base and have come to the conclusion that you're asking to be zapped. You may have your TH outside but it's protected by a max cannon, WT, and mortar. I'd imagine you have traps there as well. Sorry, but trapping your TH is not offering a free snipe. No one will waste an entire army for that. They'll zap you and leave you with no shield. No pity for TH trappers who complain of being zapped.

Not a bad idea. Would deliver a blow to the storage raiding overall, but not sure to what extent. Making storage raiding less attractive isn't really the best option when SC is clearly trying to shift gameplay towards active players attacking other actives, but like I said I have no idea the overall hit that storage raiding would take. And it more than halfway meets the proponents of lightning rods and lightning-resistant DE storages.

EDIT: To be clear I do not think that DE zapping is a problem whatsoever, as basic economics render it an inefficient form of farming at every TH level, but even more of a waste of valuable spell cook time and elixir at TH9/10.

Agreed that no one should spend money for gems, not wen putting a TH out is so easy to do.

And agreed that its not important that the guy grossly overspent to get the DE. That only matter to you as being why you should not do zaps yourself.

But getting zapped is good because you get off cheap. A person tapping 5 times gets some DE, but I would prefer that to using an army to come and take all of it plus a bunch of gold and elixir. Why care how they take as long as they are taking less? Having people get less from my base to me is always better than them getting more.

Someone zapping you, and then someone 'using an army to come and take all of it plus a bunch of gold and elixir', or just someone 'using an army to come and take all of it plus a bunch of gold and elixir'. They usually do unless it's a revenge zap or if its a TH on the outside that is trapped. Once I attacked a TH10 in Silver 2 who had his TH in the corner. He surrounded it with 4 level 8 teslas. So I just zapped his DE instead when I had no prior intention. Then left him with no shield. He got what he asked for IMO.

In my experience, they rarely do, and my TH is outside and untrapped. If your TH is inside, even less would give you a shield. The fact remains that, as I said, zappers do not always give you a shield. It isn't a 'choose to be zapped or choose to be three starred' kind of thing.

Some of you guys talking about being in master or champs swear that makes you better than others. Like i said before the game has changed get to champs back in the days was a big deal now i see th5s in champs and u think that makes you better? Gold league is the smart way to go if your a th9 you should be attacking th8/9 if your a th10 u should
Be attacking th9/10. My primary income for dark comes from th8s becase i upgrade both heroes non stop and dont have to use spells to get or if at most 1 spell per attack but dont get me wrong i also attack th9s only if its 1500 k or more but usuallly if the th 9 is strong it require alot of spells which i dont like to use. It all about speed in this game in

If zapping wasnt in the game some people would not even be able to get dark

I keep seeing people talking about revenge but revenge sometimes is not easy. They usually have a shield 1 or 2 they stay online with a 3rd party. You

It is a good one yes? I am thinking in addition to this, we should add penalties for higher level attacking lower level. Like, higher level would actually lose DE if they try to attack lower level.
