Advice on a 5-diamond loss bug

I agree. It may look like you double clicked or tapped on the open for diamonds chest from their end but I know I didn't either. Plus it seems weird that the diamonds don't disappear until you go back to the farm and they only happened to me when I went to someone else's farm to check the chest. The only one I used to do was Greg's anyway. Now I just don't check any chest but my own. I have not had this happen with red tool boxes, just the treasure chest in town. And it doesn't seem to matter if you pick up passengers or not since I never waste my train trip on Greg's single passenger.

The town gets less play from me now because I don't want to forget and accidentally tap a chest.

The delay in moving this thread is because it initially began as "advice" and a second thread of this subject was already in the Bugs section. As it's become more of a repository of experiences of this bug, it's moved now.

Unfortunately, Support has not gotten enough reports on this to recognize it as an issue, hence those...let's say unhelpful...replies. More of you experiencing this MUST send an in-game report. Especially those who've experienced it several times. Send a new report each time and specify that this is "A separate instance of this bug for which you've sent in previous reports on previous occurrences." It would also help, if you're able, to keep a log of each time the loss happens and the date you send the reports. Then, when sending a new one, you can say "this is my 4th time losing diamonds in this manner. Please see my reports of previous loses sent on date, date, and, date."

A lot of complaints and details are showing on the forums but not to Support. They need these reports and the associated game and device data to gather enough information to enable them to find patterns and clues so they can be convinced this is an issue, locate it's source, and fix it.

I've been keeping an eye on my own game as I was one of those way back when who experienced something very similar with a 3-diamond-at-a-time loss. I've not as yet experienced this 5-diamond one, and I do a lot of chests and toolboxes, but I will certainly report to Support and on this thread if I do. Well, actually, I think I may have experienced once, but it happened so fast and I wasn't keeping track of my diamonds at the time, so I can't be sure. I'm watching for a repeat and keeping a close count these days so I can be sure.

I have started to make sure that the home icon is not over the water when I leave a neighbors town. Seems to be working.

I contacted high command again as they stated that the double click doesn't allow this to happen. I replied that it was enabled.The advice I then received that the confirmation step is not applicable in this instance. Contrary advice!They will not refund as they are saying it is my fault.I know I never open chests that need diamonds.Like the previous contributor I am going to cut my playing time and am thinking of abandoning the game altogether.I was polite in my correspondence.Their replies were not and we're decidedly unhelpful.

This has just happened to me again. I picked up 2 diamonds from mining and 4 by fishing for the event. My net gain is only 1 diamond though.

I never use diamonds to open locked boxes so there MUST be a glitch.

Keep reporting to Support folks no matter what odd or contradictory answers you get. That's the only way to convince them to look into this.

I have again lost another 5 diamonds to the sea chest glitch.

After reporting the matter to SC, I was told there was no 'glitch' and that they needed screenshots in order to verify what had happened.

Of course, there were no screenshots TO send to them because I wasn't expecting it to happen. Since that time, I have been religiously screenshotting every single time I get an open sea chest and a prize. Finally today the glitch happened. I have now sent SC a shot of the town I had been in showing my diamonds, plus one on my return where there are 5 missing.

Do I need to take bets on the fact that they'll tell me I used 5 diamonds to open the chest? Cynical, moi?

According to my experience, you will get a reply saying the time blah blah blah and it is your device problem :p Good luck

I just reported this bug yesterday. I specifically wrote that I don't want the diamonds back, because I don't need them, and that I'm just filing a bug report. They replied that unfortunately, they can't refund the diamonds that have been "accidentally used". Major rolleyes moment!!!

For them, it looks like the chest was unlocked by the user tapping on the 5-diamond button. For us, it looks like it was already unlocked.

I'm almost ocd-persistent, so I won't rest until I get a logical response from tech support!
