Advice on a 5-diamond loss bug

This happened to me yesterday; I lost 5 diamonds after picking up visitors, tapping an unlocked sea chest and returning to my town. I didn't report it because I didn't think I'd be believed. Later, I found 5 diamonds in another chest on my farm, so felt it wasn't a total loss.

Thank you OP for advice on how to avoid the diamond loss.

It is still happening. I click on boxes in the past and keep watch on diamond count. So disappointed to see it still occurring. I never pay 5 diamonds to open treasure boxes but SC claimed I did. It ruins the enjoyment now for me to open boxes. Now I just worry all my diamonds will slowly disappear if I touch the treasure boxes.
So sad.

Happened to me yesterday, thought about reporting it but when I brought up the menu it was so confusing and I didn't. During the course of the day I convinced myself I'd imagined it, but now I've read this thread I know it happened.

Had 222 diamonds I'm sure because it's such an easy number to remember. Now I have 217.

I click boxes all the time and I don't really want to stop doing that. Obviously I never use diamonds to unlock one, and I have the double click thing enabled.

I'll report it in-game for what it's worth.

The Double tap confirmation doesn't work on tool boxes and treasure chests. I've tapped on loads of both, and have opened at least 100 since this thread started, to see if I could make the diamond loss happen. I can't say it have happened to me in any other situations, than when my finger was to fast and hit the open box button.

Fair play they replied on a Sunday. Basically told me what you have said Thobi that it's my own fault😉

It's never happened to me before but there's a first for everything I suppose.

Anyway I prefer the conspiracy theory of a bug in the system.

It can be a standard reply. I have just tapped to fast a few times, and hit the open box button. If done fast enough, it can look like an open box, it has just been opened with diamonds. I think all here should be prepared, it will not be something easy fixed, because if the bug is hard to reproduce again and again, it will most likely also be difficult to fix.

I have tried and tried to reproduce this diamond loss and cannot. Maybe it only happens to certain people.

I also experienced that losing my diamonds when my ipad died drain battery. When i started hayday again after charging, my diamonds all gone.

This has just happened to me.I've lost diamonds in the past and just thought I'd clicked on something or there was a Hayday Moriaty on the scene.Thanks for alerting me to this.I will be more careful in future.I had visited my town when this happened, so it seems to endorse your theory.I will complain and see what happens.

I have received a reply from on high.According to their records I opened a mystery box requiring diamonds. Now I never open boxes that need payment as I save my diamonds to hire Tom.They also stated that if the double click is enabled, this can never happen.Guess what it is enabled and has been for as long as I can remember.So very little help from on high.
