Supercell read every single thread on this forum. Whether it's drowned out straight after or not, it is still read. There is no point in making people post two hundred senseless comments elsewhere in order to be able to try to help the community. Why will a person who has had to post 200 times not post an idea that's already been mentioned? It's certainly not a risk we have to take, sure, there won't be as many useless comments, but there would also be hardly any good ideas to drown in the first place. I don't agree with any kind of 'get rid of the good ideas and the bad ideas. That means less good ideas will be drowned out' approach.

There is a lot of value to both the OP of the good idea and SC. The OP gets feedback on unanticipated drawbacks so they can adjust it into a complete idea. SC also gets some idea of the popularity of the idea which if nothing else helps them prioritize when it might be released as well as some public opinion about if variant A or B is more desired when possible. The great idea that is lost because it gets pushed to the second page in 30 minutes by zapping and resource sharing threads may be seen by SC, but it also looks like the rest of us don't care, so why should they.

Please re-read the thread before referring to me again. You are falsely accusing me of things I never said, nor agreed to.

It should be a time requirement not a post requirement.

New accounts should have to wait 24 hours before creating a new thread and perhaps 48 hours before being able to post in IFR period.

This is actually a great solution, but I still worry exactly how many percent of the members would just say "fine...", come back the next day and post "Original and fresh idea: The lightning rod! (stop DE zapping!)"
in any case, there would be considerably less people who come on here to complain that "they had unfair war" because the anger might have faded....

The whole point is to reduce or eliminate the useless reinvented ideas that floods into the forum.

The reasons why this comes about is from people not realizing thier idea was already thought of before. Not only thought of before, but thought up, talked about, judged, and ruled-out or already considered doable at some point. They do not stop and consider the idea that anything happens outside of their experience... which is natural for almost anyone when you think about it. So what we are dealing with is the innate ignorance of human nature itself. (or as some say, 'people are stupid/morons)

To fix this, you have to grab thier attention long enough to stop and read what is already here. Ignoring most or all of the important info they need to know, like in some generic pop-up window with 'OK I agree', will render this idea we are trying to come up with useless.

That is why I jumped on the idea of the limited access until X amount of posts, AND an engaging intro page to hold thier attention while we 'upload' the needed info into thier head that thier idea may very (very) likely be an old and tired repeat here. AND told in a way that is not insulting or discouraging. If it is off putting, they will leave, and the ideas and suggestion forum will die a slow death as very few new people show up with ideas, and more importantly the drive, to try to help give SC the feedback that is desired.

your idea has already been suggested, please do a quick search through this thread. :rolleyes:

In seriousness, I've already suggested something extremely similar, and Warren right above you has explained why your idea probably wouldn't work by itself.

The best solution is to combine post requirements, time requirements and a re-direction to a sticky. But that might be a little hard to programme.
