Dark Troop: Wall Smasher

This "wall smasher" would be a tall muscular troll. He would yield a hammer.

Wallbreakers already "smash" walls.
What's the need for a "wall smasher"?

Just as there is more than one flying troop(dragon, minion), one tank troop(golem, gaint, lava hound),etc. It can just help for different strategies of attack.

Why do we need 2 different troops to do the same thing..?

Well, maybe it doesn't die once it breaks walls...
But that would be OP... So I agree with MrH. It's useless. :(

hog riders and gaints do they same thing, but we attack with them differently. it would go the same for a wall smasher vs a wall breaker

They don't do the same thing. One is a tank, and one is a damage dealer. They're completely different.
We also need more ways to destroy defences than walls. Wall breakers do what it says on the tin. They break walls. We don't need a troop that smashes walls as well.
