The fact that the hound triggers all air traps in the main problem. Simply having the hound or pups not trigger the air trap would help as loons and minions could take some much needed damage.
This strat has become the new 2/3 star GoWiPe(Wi) of a year ago.

What if you hear that Golem shouldn't trigger traps so that wizards, witch, etc will take the damage from traps.. I don't know.. sounds stupid for me..
If they really do it like that, they better increase the Hound's damage output at least to a giant level

It's not like you can spam Lava Hounds and automatically win. Please stop trying to sap the fun out of this game and learn how to attack with Hounds yourself if they are so overpowered.

Lava Hounds are UnderPowered, if anything.
Compare to Golems, using stats for rockets vs hounds, and cannons etc vs golems.
Lava hounds are the golem of the sky. They are used to destroy air mines and distract defenses. Make an anti-air base if it bothers you so much.

Seeking Air Mines should do 1.5x damage to Hounds. Leave the rest as it is so other aerial troops are unaffected - as they can ill afford to be.
I've noticed they die actually pretty quickly...on good bases. I think it's fine tbh.
They need better designs if lots of their bases are getting 3 starred. I won't waste my time watching it, but considering how many serious war clans utilize ghosting to find traps and CC contents, kind of ruins the argument of presenting that as evidence that hounds are OP.Quote:

Guess what Lava hound already been nerfed by slightly reduce the hp of the pups and double the speed of the arrow of AT. Now the pups won't last as long. I don't think they need to be nerfed even more. So I'm against this and to OP I'd say "adapt men!".
I'd hardly call that a nerf. 55 HP to 50 HP. Makes no difference to a majority of defenses. Faster shooting archer towers do not help against pups either as they require 2 shots now - before just 1.Quote:

Indeed they don't but some bases are much more conducive to lavaloons. In my TH9 clan wars it is still a minority attack because the learning curve is moderately hard to be regularly successful against all base types. The embarrassment of a 1 star or no star attack potential puts a lot of people off. I have tried to teach experienced clashers how to do it in my clan and have started with a TH8 and they only get 1 star. I look forward to the Th9 antilavaloon bases that will start appearing in threads because it is so powerful when executed skilfully and whether they really are effective.Quote:

I've binned off the hound/loon strat in wars, it is too unpredictable.
In an ideal attack (or one with additional help from a well known app) they will three star easier than other strats, but plenty of times I was scrambling around (and often failing) to get 2 stars against clans that knew how to set their base up to counter Hounds and Loons.
The point was theyre not just a simple drop and win troop dumb dumb. You actually need to know how to use them. Thats why they arent OP.. because using them actually involves some skill.Quote:

Hounds themself aren't overpowered, so don't need to be nerfed. I see so many people failing with lavaloon on my base, cause they don't know how to use it. It's not the spam and drop heal = 100% like hogs used to be.
Lavaloon is a very compact strategy, takes like forever to properly use it for 3 starring a maxed th 10.
You also need a lot of luck with tesslas, cc troops and traps. That's why in war I only try on an already attacked base when I at least know cc and tesslas. And even then there are so many variables left, that it's almost impossible for me. After the attack I know what I shouldve done differently. But too late.
Those mods help with all of it and this combination makes lavaloon so overpowered.
SC should nerf all troops!

YouTube is actually the problem, there are no secrets in this game. All the best base designs are re-used, all the best attacks are re-used. The longer they exist under the same conditions - the more powerful certain combinations become.
That is why troops get nerfed, re-adjusted, new levels etc etc. To force players to re-think and not continue to use the same re-hashed plans for years and years.

Even hog spammers can fail miserably if they don't pull a CC out first. Even mass hogging requires half a brain, and that was before they suffered half a dozen nerfs.

And on 3 staring max TH 10 bases... Believe it or not, more than not the Heroes are the one who makes that much difference... Because the Max Heroes are so OP that they can get 20+% just by themself (or with help from Golem) and kill an AD and CC troops, Lavaloons can 3 star the rest of the base easily. Which isn't that much different from GoWi army.. Max Heroes play a big parts

Witches & Hogs in the past got to a point of been too good and nerfed. It's entirely possible the newest troop - the Hound may also suffer that fate if the win success rate keeps increasing. While at the same time bases will continue to evolve to combat them better.
I'm still on the fence as to whether they are overpowered or not. I've seen them have great success, but have yet to have that success myself...largely due to my Hounds not yet at max level.
The difference with witches and hogs is that you could spam more less just them and get a 3 star a lot of the time. With hounds its different you have to use them with other troops and even then if you want to 2 star you need a bit of skill and to 3 star you need a lot and a bit of luck.Quote:

It's not a straight up compare to talk about golems. They waste spring traps and GB, but you can position those so golems won't walk on them and position defenses to direct golems. There's no way for a base to funnel hounds, they just make a beeline to the AD.
Hounds die fast enough as it is. They already don't do any damage. All they do is set off traps and buy loons a few extra seconds. But man those seconds are brutal :-)

ok, well no, i think they are quite perfect the way they are.. don't get hit by them often, but when they do.. they wreck havoc on my base.. which is ok since they are the last troop from de barrack (they are meant to be powerfull)
If I study youtube videos and research attack strategies all day I can figure out a good two star most likely three star strategy to use in CW. Point is the vast majority of the playerbase doesnt invest the time effort to become "pros" at this. Asking for nerfed based of "pro" level attacks and clans using third party software is stupid. I'm sick of people watching youtube videos and thinking everyone is on par with them.
Herein lies the problem really. These sandboxing programs can turn an average attacker into a god if he is willing to practice against the base as many times as it takes so that the attack turns into a 3*. It's not so much that the troops are overpowered.Quote:

lavaloon is more of an all or nothing similar to hogs but not half as easy as hogs were before nerf.
