New Description Category for Clans: Prominent Language

We could really use a category on the clan profile that lists what language, or languages, the clan is able and willing to speak. We have 'International' as a base, but we still all speak English, with some obvious exceptions of bilingual players. Sure we can put 'We speak only English' in the limited character text for the profile, but if it were something a part of the basic display, and is searchable, that would help things out greatly!

Please do this! I don't want to have to change my language just to say we speak english or etc. Its frustrating having to find the language changer for the Ipad in a different language.

It really is frustrating that folks that don't speak English are likely running across a ton of English-speaking only clans, and vice versa, when adding something like this (that is configurable in the search as well) would make everyone's life easier. Nationality is actually, I think, of lesser importance than the language barrier.

Semi-OT: This is why a troop request screen that lets the requester limit the number/kinds of troops that can be donated would help. If you write out what you want in plain text only folks that speak your language will understand what you want. If you could choose from a pick-screen similar to the one shown when donating troops it would make it crystal clear what was requested/needed.

I think supercell added the nationality thing to try and hit two birds with one stone, so you can see clans within the same time zone and language, yes I am 100% aware that different people speak different languages in the same country buts its a majority thing, If you see a clan from the US its assumed the speak English see one in France Id assume they speak french. Added a specific option for language would still be nice but im fine with just assuming based of Nationality for now.

You can still have bilingual clans, or 'international' clans with people picking a set language to talk with. The issue with our clan is we have it set 'international', because we have people from Japan, India, as well as the USA, Canada, and UK. If we set it to USA or Canada, to make people assume we speak English, since that's the timezone the majority are roughly in, then potential members will assume other things, like it is only for people from there, and not join our clan. Granted, some will see 'international', and not join; but let's stay on topic.

I think with this feature you should be able to choose up to 3 (5? more?) languages so that you can be bilingual. Just a thought.

Would say 3 max. I don't believe that many can speak 4 or 5.

Along with another thread idea, could have a listed preferred language or languages on your profile, along with a personal message. Then the clan profile can list how many can speak what, automatically.

The nationality thing might be helpful in finding people in similar time zones and vaguely similar language usage, but as a strict method for finding people who speak your language it's a fail. Especially since most clans (?) set theirs to "international" because they don't have requirements for distance/location.

Besides, imagine the inverse of the situation you describe: You're a native french speaker living in the United States. You'd like to find other folks that are geographically/time-zone close to you. If you set United States your odds of finding french speakers is likely pretty small.

See above, it's not a safe assumption, and fails to address clans that set their location as "International".

+1 on the profile change, it needn't be done at the same time as this clan language change, but the long-term goal should be to improve match-making for folks searching for a clan to call home (and that goes with having language as part of a player's profile).
