I have almost all of my TH 8 village to the max including walls all my E collectors are 10 and my gold mines are at 11. I have one at 12.
do most of you bother to upgrade the gold mines and collectors past that point?

Yes all my collectors are 12. That = 21,000 gold and elixir per hour
yes... why wouldn't you?
Anyone who doesn't do it is missing out.
I have level 8 gold collectors and see no point in upgrading. I am mid th9 with 5 builders that are yet to stand idle. Upgrading them just takes away precious upgrade time for other buildings and the increased loot gain is not significant.
Well, why did you bother to upgrade your collectors in the first place? Just do it, you're going to be maxing everything anyways.
For sure once the upgrade is finished you get pure resource profit. Some people wait but the longer you wait the more potential loot you lose.
I max resource collectors as soon as possible. It's worth it in the long run. Just get it out of the way.
Either make them your absolute number one priority at each TH level, or get them to the point where they start taking more then a day to upgrade then leave them alone and only upgrade them from there whenever you get to the point where you start to struggle to keep builders busy.
There is no debate that maxd collectors are needed at some point; but some people need them earlier then others. Some don't need them until they start the lava grind, others need them to keep builders busy as early as TH7.
I only did it because all my other buildings are done. If you farm 4m+ a day then it really is hardly a dent
It's true that you earn 21,000 Gold per hour with maxed Mines/Collectors. But the question is: Is it worthy to upgrade them past Level 11? Upgrading them from Lv 11 to 12 adds another 500 Gold per hour.
500 x all 6 Mines -> 3,000 additional Gold per hour if you upgrade them one more level.
That's 72,000 Gold per day. That's the amount of gold you farm when you fail an attack. ;)
I agree that upgrading them isn't a bad idea. It's just your lowest priority (if you're an active farmer).
It would be fun, but they aren't going to do it, it was just done
thats the part I was wondering about. the one I did took 5 days. so in the 5 days it was off line I lost more gold than I could produce in a month with the new l12 mine.
I bet I will still be playing in a month but it doesn't seem like much of an increase for the length of time.
I guess as many said once I have NOTHING else for my builders to do then its another story
Th8, I will do the collectors when my defences are done, probably while I am doing walls
You already "messed up" by upgrading them to 11, so you might as well get them to 12 at this point. Active farmers should stop upgrading their collectors at 8, since beyond that they take over a day to upgrade. For those farmers it doesn't make sense to upgrade collectors past 8 until late TH9 when you start grinding lavas.
If you are active enough to keep all of your builders and research going then no, I only upgrade them if all buildings are upgraded and I still have research to do. I time my research so it finishes when my town hall does.
I never upgraded my mines past 8 and my collectors were 6 until all my defences and other buildings were max at TH10. I never saw the point my builders were busy non-stop until that point through raiding. Then I realised how stupid I had been an if I'd done them sooner I would have had a few more lava walls without having to do anything.
In my humble opinion it really depends on how much you play. I am able to play a couple hour a day so I don't plan on upgrading my mines until our clanpush in 2 weeks.
72k a day doesn't seem like much..but during 1gem boosts, you'd wish you had them maxed. Make it a low priority, but can't beat free loot.
if you have nothing else to build or just want to, upgrade them. people will say if you're active, you don't need to and that point is valid to a degree.
BUT, i like the look of maxed buildings. I like the increased hitpoints as anything that slows down attacking troops is worth it for your defense. Over months and years of playing, you will reap the benefits of having upgraded mines/collectors and the increased production. Lastly, it helps the economy for everyone.
If you play constantly and you never get raided, it's not worth upgrading them.
For everyone else, it is worth upgrading them as soon as possible. They're a relatively cheap upgrade, so if your builder finished and you don't have much loot, start working on a mine upgrade.
1. Maxing out mines helps the economy: if everyone left their mines underleveled, we would all lose out on a significant source of loot.
"Well," you say, "I don't care about other people getting loot. I only care about my own farming and upgrades!"
That's fine, but you're part of the problem. Ever spend an hour hitting Next because you can't find any loot? You have no right to complain because there are so many like you that leave their mines underleveled.
2. Upgrading mines gives you a quick recovery from raids. If an attacker took 300k gold from you last night but you're sitting on a shield and maxed mines that have been filling up for hours, that raid won't feel nearly as bad.
3. Upgrading your mines gives them more HP, making it that much harder to earn a star on your base in wars.
4. Six maxed gold mines will earn you 15 million gold in one month. You likely won't end up with 100% of that amount due to raids, but you'll end up with most of it.
This is why people who say, "I don't have time," or "It's not worth it to me" are just flat-out wrong. It's not even a matter of opinion.
Yea I maxed my collectors after defenses were done. Im maxing Th8 an only have 4 builders. I maxed them soon as i finished defenses and just always had at least 1 collector going along with whatever else i was upgrading. Its Well worth upgrading them. Its Definitely worth it when there is 1 gem boost on collectors. The Sooner you upgrade them the more your going to make in the long run. I think its kinda foolish to be a th9 and not have collecotrd maxed. I wish i would have maxed mine sooner.
You have to take into account the time it takes to upgrade them and all that time you will lose collecting gold/elixir during that duration.
It may not be worth it considering the "catch up" point may be a month after you upgrade them. However, past that point you will be gaining much more in the positive side.
I did it for the hp increase which helps alot in wars.
well 6 collectors/mines lvl11 will generate 12kk of elixir and a lvl12 will generate 15kk per month
so worth it IMO only downside is wait the first 5 days to finish
finishing my math is 36kk more per year or =72 lvl9 walls upgrades and I saying this just for the diference between lvl11 to 12.
I said 36kk
Kilo is a unit prefix in the metric system denoting multiplication by one thousand. It has been used in the International System of Units where it has the unit symbol k, in lower case.
The prefix kilo is derived from the Greek word χίλιοι (chilioi), meaning "thousand". It was originally adopted by Antoine Lavoisier's research group in 1795, and introduced into the metric system in France with its establishment in 1799.

3000/hr x 24 hr = 72k/day
72×365 = 26.28mil/yr (1 pump/mine)
26.28×6 = 157.68 mil/yr
3500/hr x 24 he = 84k/day
84x365 = 30.66mil/yr (1 pump/mine)
30.66x6 =183.96 mil/yr
+26.28 mil gold and elixir per year just as the difference for upgrading from 11 to 12. That is over 52 legos.
No, waste of time if you're an active farmer.
