I think vote with your feet is already the best option. If I go to a store and don't like it, I choose another store... I don't try to fire the owner. Unlike Government, clans are optional and you have the right to choose a different store or no store at all.

This. OP this isn't a horrible idea and I see where you're coming from. It would be exploited by trolls, 12 yr old d bags, and thieves in no time. Vote with your feet. If you started a clan it's yours, doesn't mean people have to be in it though.

We recently restarted to escape a leader gone bad. His real life issues had led to months of inactivity. The coleads & elders ran the clan in his absence, but when he did bother to show up he was abusive, belittling, and behaved like an ♥♥♥. After several weeks of this type of nonsense, all the actives, and the leadership core left and reformed.

Actually its like real life democracy. The President can be impeached. And this personally sounds interesting. As others said this could be abused, but maybe require some promotion, such as citizenship, for members to be able to impeach and vote.
