they could've just made it stuck in the little dot in the middle of the base so everyone would be forced to have town hall protected but since they didn't do that it seems like they're okay with farmers
It wasn't intended at all. And its actually their own fault for not tying loot with trophies and making loot the most important thing in the game when the (original) purpose is to get trophies.
Now that farming is more important in the game I really want SC to focus on the benefit of farmers more than pushers. They did give us lvl 12 mines and collectors and that's a start, but the best and simplest way is as I mentioned, tying loot with trophies.
Plenty would but just because sniping is better doesn't mean that someone wants to sacrifice their own resources to get a shield. At the very least, it'd encourage protecting TH more than discourage
It'd also help if defense wins were more useful for people who don't care about trophies or make trophies more useful by further increasing league bonus. Designing a game to focus on pushing trophies for loot sounds more enjoyable than finding that sweet loot spot to me
Even if the Town Hall stored 100k of each, I'd still leave it out. It would be better to lose 100k than 450k (350k at TH9 plus the 100k for the Town Hall).
I also agree 100% with the idea of tying loot with trophies more. Give farmers a reason to climb higher. The best solution in my opinion would be to further increase the league bonuses, and award the bonus based on destruction percentage rather than all or nothing for win/lose.
It is a strategy game. It's just one of many that people have come up with
