How Does Supercell Feel About Farming?
Here is something that has been on my mind for a while.
When originally designing this game, I believe Supercell intended for everyone to protect their Town Halls. See the image below.

As we all know, it is much harder to keep resources while protecting our Town Halls. Most attacks will take some of our resources, and we would have to pay for trap rearming costs along with X-Bow and Inferno Tower reloading costs, which can all end up being quite expensive.
Some crafty players came up with the idea of a farming base. By leaving our Town Halls unprotected, others can snipe them, giving us a free shield and keeping our loot safe.
Did Supercell ever intend for this behavior? I can't imagine that they did. It seems like more of a broken game mechanic to me. It also has some side effects. The most noticeable one being that lower level players can snipe Town Halls and climb high in trophies. Lower level players really have no business being in higher leagues unless they have the attacking skills to get there.
I am curious. Has Supercell ever stated if this was all intentional? Or have they been silent about it because they don't want to admit to overlooking such a large flaw that they couldn't fix?
I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts.
