Everyone trying to call this "bribery" is way off base. People are rewarded for good behavior throughout life in every aspect of life and at every time of their life - from newborns to adults. That is life. You do something good whether it be continuously or acutely then you are rewarded for the positive behavior. "Bribery" has very negative connotations and is used when people are bending rules, breaking laws, or being unfair to outside parties in some way. Albeit both are a reward for performing an act; bribery is a reward for doing a negative act that benefits a specific party positively and also carries a certain amount of risk for one or both parties. Bribery would also have a element of unfairness or inequality to the parties not involved in the transaction. Everyday positive reinforcement is providing a fair reward for a positive act.
