Because it would be cool to be able to name them!
Maybe with a certain amount of unit, building and wall kills they could unlock prefixes and suffixes that you could choose.
"Lord Conan the Destroyer"
"Charlemagne, Slayer of Hogs"
etc etc.
No game play changes of course but would add some cool personalization to everyone's base and heroes.
This would be pretty cool. Maybe just premade names or the ability to switch up names and titles like you said. The reason I said this is because people making offensive names or titles. Other then that I think this is pretty cool. Support from me!

Here is the million dollar question. Are they going to allow players to rename them after? Keep in mind that they haven't allowed the renaming of anything that you can currently name.
