Nice! I haven't used GoWiPe much in Wars. Actually, only once! & it went well. I'm making raids using GoWiPe to cover up my mistakes so that I don't mess up in War & luckily, I'm able to spot the faults & better my every next raid. But I'm still having a little problem with directing the Golems to where I want them to go after the wall breaks open. :(
Went and checked out eddz base. Sorry to break it to you, but that's a TH 8 with TH 9 morters and ADs. Every other defense on the base hasn't been upgraded and he's even got both xbows down being upgraded from lvl 1 to 2.
So no, you basically cored a max TH8/brand new TH9.
Lol! Yeah, you're right. I checked it again. :p
I checked all the bases again & realized I messed it up. I kinda confused two bases with each other. & the guy has even changed his base design a little. & when I attacked, the X-bows were up & running. That's what scared me but I wanted the DE so i attacked anyway.
Never bothered with dragon war attacks again once I got my Golems and maxed my Pekkas at TH8, which I did very early on. GoWiPe is the way to go. If you have level 1 Pekkas and Golems, get them up to maxed. Level 3 Pekkas for the win.
My experience with this type of attack has been good. Always two stars (unless I screw up really bad and it has happend :) ), many 3* as well. However I think this depends on the base layout. This type of attack in my experience has been that it works best on more open bases. If the opponent has many wall squares, this can mess up my attack. Couple times I have seen wizards break a wall on the side of the base and my pekkas derailed to that side and moved away from heading towards the core.
Because for many of the usual attack combos, people have created bases to defend against them, now I am working on all my troops, so that I do not have to rely on a single attack for war, but based on the base I want to attack to have different options to choose from (ground, air, hybrids, etc.)
My army comp is this:
2 golems lvl 2
4 pekka lvl 3
10 wizards lvl 5
Barb King lvl 10
2 Rage spells lvl 5
1 Heal spell lvl 5
In war attacks, I form a straight line from my spawn point to their clan castle with their TH as the center point. I spawn the 2 golems and 4 pekka. When their CC troops start to come, I use the rage spells. Pekka are attracted to CC troops, so using the rage spells usually tears a whole right to the center of their base, where the TH is, to meet their CC troops.
When the golems and pekkas have started to do pretty good damage, I send 5 of the wizard down the same path so they can be shielded by the golems. I usually release the other 5 wizards and Barb King on the other side of the base for cleanup.
I've yet to get less than 2 stars with this attack, usually I get 3 stars.
I'm a truly maxed th8
I'm still getting the hang of GoWiPe at TH8. I actually prefer attacking town hall 9's in wars with that strat because the objective is simply getting to the core for 2 stars. I generally find that's easier than taking on a Town hall 8, where you should be going for all 3 stars. My successes there are still 50/50.
Its a ridiculous amount of fun to attack with (for me anyway).
My old clan always used mass drags. Nothing else. In my new clan i got access to golems and pekkas, in which i started gowipe. I absolutely LOVED it. I am never leaving gowipe. My first war raid with it was a newbie one and i got a strong two star against a decent th8 with many wall parts. the second attack was a three star against a max th8 (aside from a few walls and bk levels) whose base was a quad. Ever since, my gowipe skills have been deteriorating, and once i got ONLY ONE STAR. But that was due to inactive use of it, and i took some time a few weeks back to practice. at the end of practice, i had done 3 three stars, the last one against a pink wall slightly rushed th9 with, i dont know, maybe 15 wall sections? Anyways, i inspired my clan to start using gowipe (well, there was also phoenix who used it all the time regardless) and now a lot of th8 in my clan use gowipe and we are getting pretty good at war
When I was at TH8 GoWiPe was my go to attack. I could usually 2 star a low to mid TH9 or three star a TH8. At that time my troops were maxed, and with 2 rage spells sometimes I had no problems getting into the core of a maxed TH9.
