Share your GoWiPe experience as a TH 8

After getting my Wizards to lvl 5 & getting my Golems + Pekkas unlocked, I really wanted to try out the GoWiPe strategy.

After boosting my barracks, setting a builder on upgrade & starting an upgrade in the Lab, I had over 3 Million elixir & 10k+ DE to waste. :p So, I thought of trying out the GoWiPe strategy.

Though before the raids [shown below], I tried it out once before using it in my War attack & it went Okay, giving me a 2 star [70%+] on a Mid TH 8. I did get disappointed since my Pekkas messed up & so a few of my Wizards but I still wanted to try it out in my War attack. Surprisingly, everything went well in War giving me a 3 star on a TH 8 [Stronger than the one I attacked in raid on whom I got 2 stars]

So, to waste my resources [& to have Fun Ofc] I started using GoWiPe. I would keep my army trained & would attack when my shield was about to run out giving me a chance of making a GoWiPe attack twice a day & giving a chance of donating wizards to my Clan-mates [Which I don't usually do :p ]

What I learned from my experience is that as a TH 8, even if you mess up, you can,
→ 3 star a Mid TH 8 easily
→ 2 star a Maxed TH 8
→ Make it to the center of a low-Mid TH 9 base.

Below are the raids I made.

Details of the above attacks;
King Carl: An almost maxed TH 8 base with TH outside
[He avenged me taking 15% loot]

Putra: a Mid TH 8 with TH outside [I didn't attack the cornered TH]
[Skull walls but defenses not maxed]

Densus 88: an almost Maxed TH 8 with TH outside [I didn't attack the cornered TH]
[Avenged me with mass Drags taking 100% loot]

King Kamil: A Low-Mid TH 8 with centralized TH [With maxed TH 7 defenses]
[Golems went in the same compartment & messed up the attack]

Zhuwenxiao1121: A new TH 9 with centralized TH [With maxed TH 8 defenses]
[Luckily, Pekkas executed perfectly on his base]

eddz: An Mid TH 9 with centralized King+Queen & Unlureable CC
[Got to the centralized DE storage ;) ]

Overall, it's kinda fun using GoWiPe even if it fails since I found it cheaper than Mass Drags [I'm not really saving DE for anything] & even if I get attacked, I know I can get back the amount stolen from me as long as it's not a strong TH 9. Though being in Gold 3/2, I have to use at least 50+ nexts to find a base worth attacking, Strong [But not too strong] with good loot to cover up the cost.

I'm still learning & hopefully, before I go to TH 9 [Which is a long way to go] I'll be better at it. :p

A TH8 with maxxed troops can make it to the center of a TH9 with maxxed defensive structures IF the walls are purple or lower.... Or if it's a really crappy design.

I often have my TH8s 2 star my opponents clans 9s with GOWIPEs so that my 9s can use their loon attacks to 3 star our opponents 8s with ease.

But yes you pretty much summed it up newbee....

3 star mid TH8 with ease.

2 star maxxed TH8 with ease

2 star maxxed defensive structured TH9 as
long as he doesn't have all skulls or his base is poorly designed.

what army comp are you using? as a TH8 i can pretty easily 2 star any other TH8 and many TH9s. getting the third star is the tough part for me as i'm still learning the attack. i feel like i 3 star 1/3 of my war attacks with this. i have level 1 golem, level 3 pekka, and level 5 wiz and WB.

There you say it: if their walls are low hence not maxed hence the base is not maxed :)

Lol I doubt the person he attacked had lavas and lvl 30 heroes.
OP:if the th 9 you attacked is maxed(all lavas plus lvl 30 heroes) then great job.But as a th8 getting to the core of a "maxed"th9(I'm guessing you're talking about defenses only)is still a great feat(provided it's not a bad base).

GoWipe was my go to strat at th8. I literally three starred almost every war attack. I generally used 1 rage 2 heal or 2 heal 1 rage. 2 golems, 2 pekkas a clan castle pekka and 6-8 wallbreakers, the rest rest wizards.

3 star city not as effective at th9 though.

Yes, he didn't have Lava Walls. He had skull walls that's why I typed Almost above in my post but I forgot to type that other places. Lol! :D & Yes, his defenses were completely maxed out. As for his base design, IDK which base layout he was using but I only had to break two layers of wall to get to the center to get that DE storage. Since I attacked from the top [A corner, not a side] I didn't destroy much of his base & lost but got the DE I wanted. :p

Since all my GoWiPe troops + Spells aren't maxed out [For a TH 8], it wasn't a strong enough attack.
