[TH9s][TH10s]Really need you opinion, its a hard decision...

Hello everybody, I'm a maxed TH9 (defences, walls) that have neglected my heroes. Both of them are now lvl10 (going to lvl 11) and i really regret not upgrading them earlier. I knew I had to, but i used them at war/farming and never realised how fast i progressed until now that I have to take the decision to move (or not) to TH 10. Really i dont know what to do, I know its bad to have sleeping builders but for a reason im afraid to upgrade. So feel free to leave in a post your opinion and comments. Should I upgrade? Or should I stay and farm heroes to a certain lvl? Have you been in the same situation as I am now? What would you do?
(Sorry for any mistakes that I've made, I'm from Greece and English is not my mother language.)

Why is it a hard decision? Since Your walls and defenses are maxed you don't need to worry about losing out on alot of gold and elixir due to loot penalty. That is the main problem of rushing to TH10.

People here say dark elixir gets even better due to third drill and inferno towers but it is up to you if you want to go to TH10.

Upgrade them while upgrading your troops too.

I would say do heroes and the rest of your elixir upgrades.
heroes to lv15 minimum.

Definitely upgrade. I have more DE than I know what to do with at TH10 - you'll get them up in no time.

So you finished your lavas without getting too much DE as a by-product?

The way I look at it, you are going to upgrade your heroes eventually, so why not start now?

I was in the exact same situation as you. Had walls done, lab, and defenses but BK and AQ were both both between lv10-15 because I always wanted them for war and farming. I know some will disagree but I would would upgrade to TH10. Make sure you have gold and elixir storages completely full when the upgrade finishes so you can immediately buy one IT and upgrade lab/spell factory/drill.

DE is so much easier at TH10 to upgrade BK & AQ. You will notice a difference in gold and elixir though. It is harder and will take you time to adjust. Elixir is very difficult the first 1-2 months just because you have so many upgrades to do as a new TH10.

You are a good farmer and will adjust and do well. Your other choice is to stay at TH9 and get BK & AQ upgraded but have all those builders sleeping.

Why waste builder time?
However, if you do go up, leave those heroes alone for a while. Even at those levels they will really help with the enormous early elix grind required at the start. Rest is cake.

I went to 10 with skull walls and lvl 10 heros.

Loot penalty hasn't slowed me down even a little bit.... The cost of upgrades and the amount of raids that I need to do to get them has slowed me down a lot.

But I'm confident once I get the 240 camp, the maxxed WB and maxxed goblins it will all work itself out.

I also have ignored heros because I need them for wars and I use them as extra troops while looting often. I will most likely take my sweet time upgrading them because the amount of downtime I get when upgrading is NOT worth the added benefit of the upgrade as I don't intend to ever reach maxxed 10.

i may not be one to give you advice as you obviously take the old advice of "upgrade EVERYTHING" very seriously. But I'd of gone to 10 a long time ago in your shoes.

The lab is the true bottleneck.... My belief is keep the lab rolling at all costs!!!!

Hey buddy if you just short on DE and everything else is done move up to th10 now. You will get much more de there, be able to star at higher cups (loot bonus de), and get an extra pump. Also you will be wasting gold and elix by staying at th9. Good Luck Buddy.

Either do some Heroes upgrade (both at the same time) while finishing those collectors and barracks, or just jump straight to TH 10

I would go to TH10 immediately. It is easier to farm DE as a TH10 with stronger troops / freeze / bigger camp. Since you are done with gold/elixir upgrades, it is a simple decision to go to TH10.

EDIT: you might want to stay for a week or two longer to get your barracks upgraded. But don't stay just for heroes. That'd take you many months!

I would recommend upgrading to TH10. DE is much easier to stock up.

I just don't understand all the TH10 questions. Its a game. Are you having fun at TH9? What is your goal? Even getting level 30/30 heroes takes a ton of time. Are you content sitting at TH9 for that long for no other reason? Some people might be, I surely would jump to TH10 long before that.

You will have to learn to farm somewhere else than 1500 T.

If you farmed lavas without having enough DE for max DE troops and heroes, you obviously stayed too long in Gold 2 league.

If you want to know if you will like TH10, just go to Crystal 1 and see how you can farm there. If you have a lot of problems, go back down and stay TH9. If you find it easy, just upgrade right away. You will be able to use your gold. And your elixir will go to a better place.

I make more DE in master than I can spend in lab and heroes.

I went to TH10 with level ten heroes and mostly level 7 walls!

You'll be fine.

Th10 is nice and fun. However, you might have to change your game. I suspect you have been barching non stop in gold leagues. Th10 attacking is about raiding storages.

I went up with 12/13 heroes and half purple walks on account and 15/14 heroes and 150 legos/100 skulls on the other. The biggest problem I had was being strong defensively for clan wars, but somewhat limited offensively due to weak golems and low heroes. I now have my golems up, queens to 17, and kings to 15/20. Life is much better now.

I would suggest going up, but not do wars until you have pekka 4 & golem 4 & heroes to at least 15. Otherwise you are just a liability as a th10.

Your defenses and walls are completely maxed, so upgrade.

It's really unfortunate that you didn't plan it better so you'd finish your dark barracks, jump level 2 and get your heroes to a higher level, but there's no point in crying over spilled milk.

You're not hosed, but you're just going to have more stuff to catch up on at TH10 that you should've gotten done while farming your legos and lavas.

I'm in similar situation, maxed th9 except 23 lavas, collectors, lab and king/queen 16/21. I am planing to farm DE in crystal league for a while before going to th10. Heros should be 20/25.

the builder time is nothing. Not valuable at all. You have to wait no matter they work or not and we are good at waiting.

Personally, I'd do your dark barracks, and lab upgrades while you also do both heros. Your hogs are level 3, you don't have lava hounds, you have some collectors yet to complete... There's plenty to keep your lab and workers occupied for a couple more weeks so you can hit TH10 with higher level heros...

upgrading to th10 will be much better than wasting idle builders on heroes

you have already maxed everything , so i think at th10 with extra camp space and DE drill you can make more DE and get them going on

upgrading to th10 now will putt you ahead of the average other th10s already

Definetly go up. I'm a new th10 only been here a few weeks but DE has been awesome. In barching in master 3-c1 and have had to dump 100k into minons and ended up needing to dump 140k into my queen cause it got full again. DE will pile in probably faster than at th9 Anyways so just plan on not moving them defenses quickly since you need to catch up the heroes.

I would never stay.
TH10 still can farm the same DE amount or even more.

Those are cheap upgrades that can easily be done as a new th10 if he wanted to. The only reason he wouldnt do those upgrades as a new th10 is because there are other things he would prioritise, if thats the case why limit the upgrades you can do by not upgrading th in the first place?

To the OP definitely go up. You will waste an absurd amount of gold/elixir if you decide to stay, and then you will proceed to waste builder time too. Definitely not worth it, especially when there isnt even any benefit from staying.

We, the th10 community, have caused all of these threads. The stigma, and fear, of th10 farming.
Its not that bad bud. Relax.
If youve ground out that much gold, wouldnt think youd have much problem.
However, that much gold with so little dark leads me to believe youve done a lot of low level barching or similar, which may be a little difficult to adjust to.
Do the same in a higher league against tougher towns, job done. Might as well stick to what you know.

If you can boost and gem some time then stay and go up to crystal 2 and use 3 giants 3 wall breakers 5 goblins 8 barbs and 21 archers in every barrack 20k-30K de per boost. If you are boosting then you can focus on heroes without interruption and worry about gold and elixir upgrades later. If you don't boost then upgrade and BAM in crystal 2 till your infernos are done then go to masters and loon every 40-56 mins (20-24-28 loons) and aim to average 2.5k+ de after the cost of minions. You'll make like 3mil gold and 40k-60k de a day this way. Stay at th9 only if you can boost AND gem hero time when your de storage is full.

Don't factor in builder time to any decisions, defense are inconsequential to your caliber of farmer (cost is miniscule, and you'll always have way more attacks than defenses.)

You are not going to want to waste time upgrading dark barracks and collectors at th10. You definitely want all your collectors maxed and hounds are beasts when it comes to wars.

Upgrade those first while you are upgrading your heroes and then go but don't sit there with just heroes to upgrade.

The only reason you should consider not going to TH 10 right now is if you don't want to TH 10 defenses placing you too high in war rankings relative to your hero level. Farming wise DE is easier at TH 10 and you're done with gold/elixir at TH 9.

I don't see the point of staying at TH9 unless to get an achievement, or something... I would get TH10 and start living the dream ;)

If its such a waste of time doing them later it is still a waste of time doing them now. It doesn't change the fact that instead of doing infernos he would be doing barracks. The only difference would be his th, the upgrades would be the same, so why is it that it is a waste as a th10 and not a waste as a th9?

Thank you all very much for your replies and your interest. I just want to point out that I'm not afraid to do some deep storage raids, yes I'm barching in gold league but i believe i got the skills for deep storages.(I consider myself a good looner, got about 400 war stars and I'm in a clan that wars once/twice a week.) All that matters to me is time and difficulty, thats the reason i started this thread. I started playing 13-14 of February 2014 and never really thought of upgrading heroes untill lately because i used them daily to farm, hence they are underleved. Again thanks for all your replies and time. Every single reply will be taken in consideration.

Definitely upgrade to TH10. You will farm DE and upgrade your heroes much faster and more efficiently at TH10. Especially after you have your infernos and all 3 x-bows upgraded along with some new troop levels, you will be farming DE in higher leagues much easier.

Sticking around TH9 with sleeping builders and no walls to work on when hero upgrades are what you need would be a bad choice in my opinion. DE is the opposite of gold/elixir when it comes to TH level. The loot penalty is worse for farming gold and elixir at TH10, but TH10 has it much easier when it comes to farming DE.

Staying at TH9 to farm DE is counterproductive - go to TH10.

Heros are your IMPORTANT farming troop, especially for TH10.

Do you plan to max your farming troop before relying on them heavily?

If your answer is yes, then stay in Th9 and farm your farming heros while you can live without them.

Go to 10!! Th10 is a lot easier than people will lead you to believe...just do it and don't look back!!

Depends if you are still having fun at TH9
