Farming DE as TH9

Hi all,

I'm a max (defenses and walls) TH9 and I'm currently farming at CI (around 2500) trophies.
All I care about is DE since I don't need gold or lix (except for building armies).

Currently I'm using loonian (24 + 50) as troop combo but I find the DE drying up here pretty fast since the end of the boosts. Plus it's really hard attacking those hard bases if their DE is in the core and you don't have a hero available (I have them upgrading both non stop) to back you up.

Would it be better to drop to gold leagues and gibarch loaded TH8's or better to stay here?
I have the 300DE league bonus here but that doesn't cover the cost for my minis..

Bit lost atm.

Thoughts?

Drop down to gold 1 - C3 and use barch to raid de. Im doing the same and my de storage is full atm.

Not really an option as I told before: no heroes and barely collector raids + DE is heavily protected.

How much do you usually go for?

I go for 1000+ de with barch and i also keep lightning spells so i can zap de storages.

your farming pretty high considering that you don't have any heroes available...C1 you start to see master 3 villages

my advice is to hover around high C3 at around 2100 - 2200 cup range...too much nexting at gold league to find DE as many of the bases are often TH7s or TH8s...in C3 you see new or rushed TH9's more often and maybe a couple TH10's that are rushed and kinda inactive so their pumps are usually full....check it out and update us!!! :)

I don't care how much DE zappin is shunned upon but hey you gotta do what you gotta do...when I was a TH9 I did nuff DE zappin to get my heroes up...now my both heroes are maxed and I got a HH of 7.5 million...zap dem DE storages bro!!!

when you reach TH10 and can more comfortably raid other TH10s with your regular army then you can stop zapping lol

Yeah, I was in CI because with the boosts there were huge raids there (4k +).
Now with the boosts ended most raids are like 1,5 to 2k and I feel like it's just not worth it to waste spells and a whole loonian army for that.

Of course there are other raids (3k+ 4k+ etc) here but that would require a full army, multiple spells and at least one hero to reach the DE tank.

You are talking to the wrong guy lol, I absolutely DESPISE zappers and consider them the lowest of the lowest.

Yeah, but I like playing in blocks of 4 to 6 hours so I like using like only one spell per raid.
Without full spells you can't take DE from a TH with IT's on disco mode (provided the design is at least half decent).

Hey buddy I am also maxing a th9. I have about 113 lvl 10 walls to go though. I find that DE is much easier to farm up high because of the bonus for the win and most villages have more on them. Good luck buddy!

dude you can hate DE zappin all you want but the point is if you wanna get as much DE as you possibly can without your heroes then that's just something that you may have to do...why make a thread asking for advice then come and then state that you desoise DE zapping? whose gonna know you zapped a DE storage? only the person you raided...it's not like a global broadcast automatically sends in this forum whenever one of the forum memers goes online and zaps a DE storage...

if you wish to keep within your personal CoC etiquette at the cost of upgrading your heroes and dark troops quicker then by all means do so...but as more and more updates come out requiring the use of DE then you jus gonna be digging a bigger hole for ureself to catch up on your DE upgrades just cuz you "despise DE zappers" lol

At G1/C3, you can find around 1k DE from TH 8/9. & it's not hard to get it.

I asked for opinions. Doesn't mean I have to follow every advice, especially not when it's bad advice.

You can actually farm way more DE than zapping. Just use one spell per raid instead of zapping somebody once every two hours. Will give you 6k instead of 4k.

PS: all my DE troops were maxed ages ago lol.

I'm in a similar boat. I've tried plenty of different types of raiding (all for DE) over the past ~2 months as TH9. Like you, I rarely have heroes since they are nearly always upgrading.

Couple thoughts:
- BAM in low-C3. Like others said, look for easy scores of ~1000+.
- GiBarch in ~C3. Can get you into slightly deeper DE storages. I'm not as experienced with it so I sometimes come up empty-handed because I overestimate 12 giants (I'm a zapper so I don't have heal/rage spells).
- Loonion but with only 16 loons around C3/C2. It requires a lot of minions which kinda blows.
I think the simple fact is that where your heroes are (mid- to high-20s?), keeping em going non-stop just requires time more than anything.

If you decide on BAM - which is probably the best way to do it - look for "Ash's journey to level 40 heroes" thread.

I'm currently doing well with DE in G1-3 with just gibarch + 1 heal spell per raid. Just find any developed th8 and they usually have 270k/270k/2k up for grabs. My heroes are not as high leveled, so you may ignore my advice ;)

Yeah, that's what I used to do but the holiday break all those raids were gone, which is why I came up to CI.

If they are back I'll probably just drop back to Gold and Gibarch the out of those TH8's ^^

Stay in Crystal 1 and Master 3. You'll find plenty of DE there, use 28 balloons and rest minions also not sure how generous your clan is but if you can get a lava hound in your cc, it would help a lot. The lava hound will absorb the hits so your balloons and minion can last longer to get to the center for the DE Storage.

Honestly M3 has plenty of DE but is very difficult to attack bases with 2 multi-inferno towers. I've been at this range for a month already and could only net 18k-25k every boosted session due to the long training time of balloonians (20/60). At C3 I was using barch and would net 28k-35k a boosted session so I would advise you to try that out.

so hold up....if your now boasting that you can farm way more DE by using one spell and ur army without your heroes instead of having to zap DE storages then whats the purpose of this thread? do u really want advice or are you jus fishing for compliments?

For anyone that hits storages they are better off bringing heal/rage than zaps. Many people believe zapping to be an inneficient way to get de while some people think it is efficient. It is a debatable matter and the OP has heard your suggestion and decided not to. So do yourself a favour and stop bringing it up already.

To the OP, I have already told you that you are better off going to th10 but since you seem dead-set on maxing th9 completely:
Use loons in m3-2, and learn to do it without heroes. Many people dont even have de in the core so its quite easy to grab it and 50% too if you have the practice.
Use bam in c2-3. You will have to move around a bit and find your own optimal level, but around here is where youll wanna be.

You okay with rushing your aq? If so m2 is the place to be. I run all archers and go for dead bases, loot bonus and weak bases with good amount of de on edge.
Note you'll still be profiting in gold and lix.

I wasn't boasting but merely pointing out the ineffectiveness of zapping.
And as already told, it's not because you are doing a suggestion that I have to follow it.

I dropped down to CIII yesterday (hovering around 2100 cups) and made 55k in 5 hours.
Not that much but good enough :)

With 20 loon rest mins you should comfortably be able to farm low masters. Keep one lightning in case of 49%/cc troops and use three rages.

Lots of bases have de storages near the edge in masters, or you can sit low in trophies as in nearly being demoted to crystal and feed off the crystal bases that are easier.

edit: easiest way of course is mass archer and lightning spells and just arching any base with de near the edge for 50% and then zapping any full de storages. But as you are against zapping and want to do it a bit slower just 20loon rest mins in masters.

The reason why mass arch + lightning is so much quicker is that if you boost spell factory you in practice have two attacks instead of one. You get de from zapping and from attacking. Whereas with balloonion you only get it from attacking.
