My first defense with this base from a Lvl117 TH9. CC had no troops.Attachment 85755
I think if I had my CC full I would have faired a lot better. I think it held up pretty well against a stronger opponent. Anything yall think I can do to improve?
Tweaked a few things and this is what I've finally came up with. Attachment 85968

Hey, nice attempt here!
A few things:
- You have really exposed air defenses
- You only have 2 storages of each resource (instead of 3)
- As soon as you break into your "core" you're going to lose all of your resources
- You want your WT splash damage more centralized to your storages
Keep on clashing and tweaking! I recommend further edits once you have all the building available at TH8
In my opinion the extra storages are useless until want lvl 3 pekka, and honestly they hinder more than help as far as walls go. I've managed to make it this far with only two of each and have only been playing since August. I think I may swap the position of the Wt and Tesla. I'm working on fix for the AD but with it having the highest hp Im ok with where it is for now. It's not possible to make a perfect base, all of them have a flaw that's the way the game is designed. Thanks for the advice though. I'll be tweaking and posting updates on this base.
The extra storage isn't just for more loot, it's to spread the distribution of loot. For example, if you have 300k gold available now all I have to do is hit one of your storages for a quick and easy 150k raid. If you had three storages it would be 33% less per individual storage. This means your loot is better protected as well as your base (extra buildings = more targets for dps-based troops to attack.Quote:

I'm just not a fan of all 5 of your storages in one compartment. I can break in from the north-east AT, and then launch a raid primarily of giants, archers, and goblins and most likely wipe your entire core.

I think there are both pros and cons of not having and having the extra storages. I miss not having it in wars but I'm also glad I don't have to protect it. I prefer to have my defenses concentrated and with the extra storages it seems like that's jeopardized. I understand what you're saying about spreading the loot but it also spreads your defense out. Any decent raid is going to result in you losing loot. As far as attacking my base, you would probably need lvl 6 giants and bunch of wall breakers to accomplish what you're talking about. Its been a while since I've been attacked by a TH 8, most real attacks come from TH 9. I think we can both agree it's those lvl 6 giants from a TH 9 that TH 8 have problems with.

Seems like you've thought out the storages, and while I strongly disagree, it's your choice to make. That being said, you could easily replace your spell factory with one new storage without changing anything. :p

I'll probably be getting another elixir storage just to get lvl3 pekka. I think the best defense is an original base. I also like symmetrical bases, makes it a little harder to decide on an attack point. I don't like having all my storages in one compartment either but all my defenses are centralized around it so it's honestly the best I can do with this setup. I appreciate the feedback, nice to hear an unbiased opinion. I like the fact that there really is no right way to approach the game. I've only been playing since August and I've pretty much maxed out TH 8 and stolen over 250 million in elixir and gold. I don't think I'm doing too bad.
