Pushing to Champions League

I'm planning to push to champions so I have some question for those who did it. Here are some:

How hard is it to push to champions without paying gems?

What troop composition? Do I need both heroes?

How much time do I need to reach there?

How many hours do I need to spend each day?

Im a th9 with maxed th9 troops spells and 20/20 heroes and pushed to champs a week or so ago using loonion.

I didn't have to spend money on gems because of the 1 gem everything boost, which made my balloon attacks once every 12 minutes, with heroes mostly always ready to roll as wel just in case I needed some extra cleanup. Having said that, if there isnt a 1 gem barrack/hero boost, you're going to have to either have a lot of gems in the bank, or be willing to spend some money in order to boost barracks. It took me a day to get from c3 to m1, then another day to get to champs, and that was with a whole lot of boosting.

If you don't have a REALLY Solid base, you won't be getting any defense wins. From master 1 to champs, I got one defense win and t was an enemy disconnecting, and I have maxed th9 defenses with 80% lava walls. Depending on ANY defenses isn't going to get you there. Has to be all offense.

Long story short, you picked the worst possible time to want to do a cheap (free) push to champs.

I have a fully maxed th9 base and now upgrading my townhall. My queen is upgrading to lvl19 now and will upgrade to lvl20 in 2 days. I thought about pushing during 1 gem boost but needed to finish my lavas.

Are you willing to spend gems on boosting or do you want to do it with 0 gem spent?

TH9 loonions should be your safest bet assuming you don't lose on attack and do 2 hours session after every 12 hours shield, you should get there easily. My advise to anyone pushing to champs is to put your TH outside. Don't bother defending you are going to get 2-3 stared anyway and lose lots of loot. If you put TH outside, chances of getting sniped by champs for 1 trophy is actually quite high.

Ah yeah I actually did the push with a lvl 18 queen. Used my de gained in champs to start queen to 19, got 100k more while dropping, used my gems to finish queen, start to 20, gem to 20 and still had about 725 left over. After that I dropped back down and started finishing up my walls.

I really wanted those walls done first, but I knew that the 1 gem event was the only time I could reach champs at th9 without spending any cash, and I really wanted to get there as a th9.

At your point, I'd say get your infernos up (maybe even lvl2) and you could possibly get the odd defense here and there to supplement your attacking wins. When attacking, always have full spells and both heroes, cc is very rarely needed, but a 2 giant 5 wiz combo to throw in front of your king to mop up a town hall/ extra % never hurts for sure.

Out of all the times I broke shield once I hit 3k cups, I never lost more than 4 cups on defense, whether it be a 1,2, or 3*. Whenever I put my townhall outside, the attacker would just snipe then go for a 50%, so I always left that minuscule chance at a defense.

I just got to champ for the first time today. I think right now is fantastic time to push because everything is at a 1 gem boost, that's pretty much the only reason I decided to push anyways. You definitely want both your heroes, cc, and all your spells once you get close to champs. Everything before master 1 is pretty easy.

I plan to do it with 0 gems but if I need some at M1 or something like that I will use some. I have never put my townhall inside neither trapped it. I get trophies purely by attacking. I think trophy base before th10 is more about losing resources than about gaining trophies espacially in high leagues. Could it be done with barch as I'm not used to balloons? I have seen many youtubers doing it.

I was super selective on attackable bases with balloons, and barch imo would be even harder. Great thing about balloons is that when you see the odd th8/9 (Rare), you can go all out for a 3* and pretty much always end up with a 2* at worst.

Barch would be a lot harder, but it would definitely negate the need for gems to boost barracks, could just go with spell factory and heroes if you barched.

Well this push looks promising for now :p I think I will go with barch even if it is harder but I know how to use in good way to get 1 star from most bases.

Putting th outside if you are th9 like me is a very bad idea.. never do it.On my push I tried all-th outside is equal to 2 or 3 star.Th outside+storages outside..didn`t work either-always 2 or 3 star.Th inside though..ocasionally I got only 1 star and even 1 win.
