Mortars already shoot up in the air so why can't they attack air troops?
Minions would be worthless
Mortars can only fire in the air to extend their range. They cant target anything because the shells are so slow.
Edit:Only one more post till I am no Longer Batman :p
Besides the obvious, that the mortars would become way overpowered, I guess a basic question is: what would trigger detonation of the mortar? Right now, they detonate upon impact with the ground. Now they need to detonate in the air? How? A timer? And what if someone takes advantage of this and uses a balloon or a dragon as a "tank" so that their barbarians and archers can swarm the base completely unimpeded?
I know mortars fire up in the air to extend the range but still why can't they attack air troops its like common sensebecause during World War Two we had mortar shooting down zeppelins
the mortar shell will go up and land on top of the balloon / dragon / minions for order the shell to explode
Doesn't make a whole lotta sense does it? Neither does a mortar hitting air troops.
Making Mortar hit air troops would effectively double the amount of Air Defenses since mortars cause splash damage.
You'd never see anyone using artillery to hit anything in the air because you'd never be able to hit anything in the air.
At that point, why don't cannons shot air? A cannon would be more believable to target air troops than mortar...
