Leaderboards based on Clan War wins

This makes so much sense that its probably been suggested a bunch of times. Its simple to explain too, this game is called "Clash of Clans", so why is the leaderboard of clan tournament based on amount of trophies each clan has? This makes absolutely no sense!!! A trophy is more of a personal achievement rather than a clan achievement.

The only effort put into this is top clans like "Mega Empire" recruit high trophy count members, it's also impossible for new clans to get on top.

With Clan War Win leaderboards, each season a new clan can have the chance to win if they worked hard enough for it.

There would be leaderboards for each of the clan war sectors ( 10 v 10, 15 v 15, 20 v 20, ETC). Same season lengths, at the end the clan with the most clan wars wins in each sector gets a gem price divided into the amount of players of the sector they won. Also, if multiple clans have tie wins the tiebreaker would go into attacks won in wars during the season, followed by stars achieved per attack. This is already tracked so it should not be hard to implement.

I support this. To me, trophies are pretty meaningless until you have a maxed TH10 base, so I could care less who's on that list and never even look at it.

Its. Different way of viewing clans. But if you're planning on being #1 itll never happen. A lot of clan are at 100+ wins already. Unless you're in one of those clans😜

Thats why there are seasons, it resets each season for new clans to have a chance

There are those that are going to argue that in todays world of clans that make 'deals' and clans where not everyone attacks (family and friend clans where only half wanted war but they were not going to kick the other half), and clans that declare war then see if there opponent is going to fight (because so many don't) that such numbers will be skewed and not that well represent who is really the best war clan out there. There will also be the opinion that a 50x50 or 45x45 war is apples and oranges different from a 10x10 or 15x15 war.

I wanted to put all that on the table because there is no argument here (from me anyhow) that all of it is true (so no need to debate) but also it is simply things that will have to be worked out forward and NOT a reason against establishing CW leaderboards.

We can continue this thread to discuss that stuff point by point and how to deal with it, or we can just accept the overall concept of a CW leaderboard as being a good thing to have and hope that SC takes notice.

Great idea and I support it. I don't want our total wins to be wiped, that would infuriate me beyond measure, but a tournament period sounds great.

This is like anything, people will always try to cheese the system. I do however, think its not going to work since there are new prices involved. Also, it would require for a clan to convince all of their opponents in a season to lose... Whos going to accept those terms?

Also, if clans aren't willing to kick their inactive members in order to keep afloat they really shouldn't expect to win either. I mean you have to work hard for it, its not going to fall on your lap. And as far as the different sectors, yes, there are going to be different strategies but everything will workout on its own.

No, the total wins will stay on your clan info. Only in the bracket you will find each win pertaining to that specific season.

I think they should put it in place and then start addressing any problems with guys cheesing the system as they arise. In fact, I think having the statistical capture might aid in that. The cheesing is happening now today, we just don't track it.

I'm with you i agree with this. we need to think long term health of the game and that is a good idea.

Our clan has talked about this for a long time and we agree with you that there should be a clan war leader board. We would love to see an overall leader board to keep track of everyone's wins. Right now we have to scroll through the trophy list and select a clan to find how many wars they have one. There are a few we are trying to catch up to that we have had our eye on for a while, and would love to have an easier way to check on them and others that may be a head of us. I know there are a few out there, we are working on our 105th win right now.

As for the season contest I think that is an awesome idea. I can see having the tiers of 10x10,15x15, etc. may be an issue due to clans kicking people for inactivity. A lot of clans like mine rotate from 30 to 40 war members all the time. If they can formulate you into a tier based on the average members you've had in a war for the season, I can see this working well. SC could also give a bigger gem rewards based on clan size. So if you clan is small you get a small gem bonus. If your clan is large you get a larger bonus, and the bonus should be split throughout the clan. In the end, it should equal out that all the members get the same amount, big or small clan. eg. The top 10x10 clan gets an 1000 gem bonus, that's 100 gems each person. The top 30x30 clan gets a 3000 gem bonus, that's still 100 gems per person.

As for the tie breaker goes, stars should play a factor into it as well. The clan that has earned the most stars in war should get the number one spot. This should ensure that all the clans are trying their hardest and gives the clans another thing to shoot for, not that most don't try to claim as many stars as possible anyways.

I like some of the ideas Im hearing. Just going to throw this out there...I've always thought its freakin stupid to rank clans based on highest group trophy count. That quite literally means nothing to me. When I look at the highest ranked clans and see 0 wins...I just don't care. I have no respect for that. I respect the heck out of clans with a good win record, no matter their total trophy count. A separate ranking based on war wins would be great. That leader board would actually mean something to me. I would respect clans that are on it.

I mean come on, it's called "Clash of Clans" not "Hoard All Your Trophies and Never Go To War".

But one issue would be what if the leader of clan left. Then all the clans work would be lost. I had seen someone suggest a second leader slot on an ideas page I had seen a while back this could help keep our clans in business.

I like the idea - but there might be too many factors to allow this to be fair for all clans and base levels.

Seasons for wars would need to be longer. Maybe 1 season per month? As it is you can war a max of 7 times in the 2 week season. I would imagine there would be a lot of clan with 7 wins.

So that brings us to tie breakers.... Would trophies be a tie breaker? Well there would have to be separate leader boards for each clan size then since there are more trophies won in larger clans. Unless the tie breaker is an average per player.

But that brings us to difficulty of warring with larger clans when compared to small clans.

One of my two villages is in a 10 person clan. We war continuously and win all of our wars with 29-30 stars. We are all either maxed TH7s or fresh TH8s

This level of wars is far easier than when you get into large clan wars between higher TH levels. in fact since we are all similar in our progression - our #10 was able to 3 star their #1 after we had 30 stars already...

My TH9 village is in a larger clan and there hasn't been a war yet where we are perfect in stars won, yet each war is clearly going to fetch more than 30 stars.

Just some food for thought. The idea is simple and great but the difficulty of execution is probably what has kept this from already being implemented.

Do you have an idea how they would rank the different levels of clans that have the same amount of players?

For instance should a 10 person clan with an average level of 45 be rated in the same league as a clan with an average level of 125?

The reason I ask is that clan wars at lvl 45 are so much simpler and easy to achieve 30/30 stars with mass dragons when compared to high level clans where you have to attack with different armies and cannot just drop all the dragons out and watch.


If these were the rules I would put together a 50 person clan and not allow anyone to level past TH7. They would use mass lvl 2 dragons in every attack and we would always get 150/150 stars and never lose.

This way we would be at the top of the biggest leader board (50x50) and get the biggest gem reward.

Once we do this for a year or so we would have a giant gem stash saved up and can just gem our way to max everything.

You are correct that dragons make it easier to gain stars on lower TH's, but there are a lot of things that you can rely on.
1. Dragons are dumb and don't always go where you want them to. I can't tell you how many times I've seen dragon attacks go askew...
2. With the number of people coming and going in this game, there are a large number of people who fail to attack. Getting full participation in wars is really hard to achieve at times.
3. The way war matching works would still make it difficult for a clan of 50 TH7's. Wars are matched up by the system pairing 2 clans with similar strengths. So there is a good chance that the opposing clan will have TH8's and TH9's in them. Making it impossible to get perfect stars in war every war. We have had 106 wars wins and only have had a perfect win maybe twice...

As for the gem bonus, the bigger clan would not necessarily get more gems than a smaller clan. The top clans would get the same amount of gems per player for each tier. Let me explain my thoughts on how it should be, and I'll use 100 gems for first place, 50 gems for second, and 25 gems for third place just for easy math.

First Place Tiers:
10x10 clans win 1000 gems. That's 100 gems per player.
15x15 clans win 1500 gems. That's still 100 gems per player.
20x20 clans win 2000 gems. Again 100 gems per player.

And so on.

Second Place Tiers:
10x10 = 500 gems. 50 each.
15x15 = 750 gems. 50 each.
20x20 = 1000 gems. 50 each.
And so on.

Third Place Tiers:
10x10 = 250 gems. 25 each.
15x15 = 375 gems. 25 each.
20x20 = 500 gems. 25 each.
And so on.

Now this may get expensive for SC, especially if they do it in accordance with current seasons. So I see them probably giving 25 gems for first, 15 for second and 5 for third place.

Even if there is not an season contest. We think there should be some sort of war leader board. A board for most wins ever, a board for average stars per clan, and one still showing how many wins/stars per season. The last one is to include the younger fresh clans.

I think yes it should since clan wars are usually matched against same level opponents, therefore being as equally challenging as a clan with max players. Even at th 8 and 9 people could summon max dragons and blaze through, the issue here is with the OP force of dragons not with the level brackets.

If this were to actually happen, what would happen at the end of the season? Tens of thousands of clans tied for most wins. Then you can limit it to stars earned, but as someone stated before, only low level clans would win, because every base is an easy 3 star. Therefore they would have 100+ stars each war which would be ridiculous. Higher levelled players would have no chance whatsoever.

Not really, even if you are low level, you still get matched against a similar opponent, meaning it won't be easy to 3 stars. And as far as "Higher levelled players would have no chance whatsoever" thats the way it is right now, no player has a chance whatsoever

I gave a similar idea weeks ago but yours is much clearer than mine, I support this. The leaderboard currently is very boring and dry, having something like this will spice the game up and make it more fun and more people to participate in wars.

I like this idea, seems to go along with the whole point of the wars a little more.
