For me, I use it mostly on barracks boosting (And heroes/Spell factory depending on necesity).
I may use it on gold mines too. I hardly ever pay for resources or speed up times.

If I can spend two consecutive hours clashing I boost heroes and barracks (not dark barracks though), but otherwise it's collectors.
Usually I only boost during 1 gem boost events though, still saving for the fifth builder.
I'm all about those drills
Heroes, be it boosting or cutting time off AQ upgrades.
*Not considering the purchase of 5 builders.
After 2 years of playing CoC I finally bought gems yesterday! I decided to stop being a cheap bugger and get some to gem my AQ time up to lv30. I'll farm the de and then gem the AQ if needed as I war 24/7. This war our opponents suck it is not needed and I'll let her sleep a bit more. But, I'll use those gems when needed to get her up in lv.
I level my BK with gems =D
I usually use gem for Spell factory
What does 'boosting' heroes mean?
Just like boosting other things like barracks, spell factory, and collectors... it cuts down the recovery time for the heroes.Quote:

Finishing off upgrades and troop training... yeah, I'm an impatient person lol
I sometimes use them to finish off an upgrade (50-80gems) so I can align them w/ my schedule.
I used to boost only one rax and one royal but, after experiencing 2 rax and 2 royals, there's no going back. I can see now how ppl can raid so much (but, still fail to see 15mil+ days). Only thing is that if I do this everyday, twice a day, it will deplete all my gems and I will have to buy more, which I am considering now. Can't do lavas w/o boosting. (IMO)
Barracks and AQ.
Great for barching :) when I need those final resource to upgrade something before I sleeeep.

Barracks and royals. SF if I am DE hunting. Very rarely to speed up builds and never for resources.
I most often use my gems boosting barracks BUT... One time I spent about 1200 gems upgrading my dragons from 2 to 3. And with how cheap barracks boosts are, that one upgrade from the Lab probly evened out what I spent the most amount of gems on lol.
Good news is that those level 3 dragons got me a three star in a clan war that we ended up winning.
Even tho I had droped a $20 spot on those gems to upgrade my dragons, it is still to this day one of my favorite purchases I've made with gems.
