To TH10.... or not to TH10

Hey Clashers! Hope you all had the best Holidays!
So here is the question..... should I go to TH10 or hold off?

So you can make a more educated answer......
I am Maxed TH9 (except walls) and I am a Clan Leader for a small Clan (only 13 right now in Clan). My train of thought....

1. I could build a tough base to better fend off attackers in Clan Wars. (We currently dont have anyone TH10)
2. I could donate lvl 4 Dragons and other upgraded troops only available to TH10.

My only reason(s) to delay the upgrade:

• King is lvl 15
• Queen is lvl 10
• 95 walls are lvl 9 (Lego's), so 155 are lvl 8 (Skull's)
• Currently Raiding in Crystal 2.

Can you please post a photo of your base?

I think you should wait, I am in the same position except my Queen is 13, King 15 and I still have some level 7 walls.

If you move up you will stop working on your walls and you will never get them done. All the upgrades and buildings are so expensive you will always be saving for something.

Heroes are too low, walls are okay.
Of course th10 would help in war but it takes a few weeks/months to get the max troops (especially when there are many lvls and you do farming troops first).

Get both your heroes to lvl 20 at least.

While I agree it would have been better to upgrade your heroes to 20 before maxing your defenses, I would just go to th10 now. DE is easier to get at th10 so why leave builders sleeping and sit at th9 just for heroes when you can upgrade them at th10 and still keep your other builders working? Plus, it's way easier to hold on to DE as a th10 with ITs.

The only reason to stay would be for walls. So you have to decide if you want to max walls or not. Because you will not be upgrading any walls for a long time at the beginning of th10.

If you are the only TH10, do it. With infernos up, almost no TH9 will be able to attack you. And you will be able to donate better troops to your clan.

I've been the lone TH10 for a month and the match making was in our favor all the time.

As for upgrading your heroes. You are right to say that it will be as easy to do this as a TH10 than a TH9

As for upgrading walls, level 8-9 walls is enough. Those infernos will help you more than all level 9 walls. Just think what kind of army do 2-3 stars on your base currently? Don't forget that third xbow. That helps a lot.

Might take you a while to see the difference in war (upgrading golems, pekkas, dragons, wizards) but it will show some day.

I hear alot of people say got to th 10 cause the de is easier to get, 2 max drills bring just under 10k a day(boosted). With that being said 5k de more a day(boosted) is easier? I don't think so. I have a slightly rushed th10 and I definitely find it easier to raid de at th9 than that extra drill will provide. Keep in mind I do have a near max th9 also (getting heros to at least 20-25)

It's easier to farm DE also at th10. 20 extra spaces is HUGE!

I suppose you're right, providing you're only really worried about de farming, I myself have a hhard time with my th10 keeping elixir.

5,000 Dark Elixir is nothing to shove aside, firstly. Secondly, they're saying it's easier to get because of your increase in offensive power by getting camps, castle, extra spell, etc and being able to raid in higher leagues where 3k+ Dark Elixir is very common. Being premature you probably don't have the power most TH10s do.

Elixer and gold are a different story. Much harder to get at th10 than at th9. So pick your poison.

The reason I say what I said about it being easier in th9 is because I can still find th8s with 1200 de and can take it easily with a cheap and quick training army of 18 lvl 6 giants and rest lvl 6 archers. That extra 5k de is only 5k de if you boost it. I myself can't really afford 90 gems to boost it everyday. So all in all its just my opinion of 1k every 20 mins as opposed to waiting longer for more expensive army. Yes stronger armies but tougher bases too. Sorry for run on sentences I failed English class growing up lol

Yes I agree but starting out, they might find it tough to raid. It's a big jump with lots to upgrade (everyone wants to max stuff right?) Those higher lvled heros will help out til their army gets stronger.

I think your heroes should go up more. It's always best to max your base out COMPLETELY before advancing you TH to level 10, because it is a giant leap.

If Clan Wars are important to you and there are no TH10 yet it would certainly help for donations.

Lv 4 Dragons, lv 7 Archers & lv 6 Wizards really help those CCs.

It would be strain on you though if you are the only one, you'll be expected to cough up a lot of elixir. Can you cope with that?

This is a very good point. That will be pretty intensive as a new th10 has a hard enough road as it is.

You get an extra 2400 DE a day as a TH10 by getting a third drill; it has nothing to do with boosting.

Loot is terrible at TH 10. Trust me, I have farmed the majority of my lavas here and it sucks. From a purely de point of view it probably is a bit better though.

Heroes up... Walls r okay but they could still go up... Little longer...

I would say much better for DE, not just a bit better.

But gold & elixir is harder to come by, really need to use leagues to supplement you there.

Head on up and enjoy the new toys! I did and never regretted it once! Loot has been fine for me ever since arriving at TH10. Plenty of storage raids everywhere and de is super easy to find.

Hello! As someone who maxed walls and didn't wait for heroes or def to max (all 4 builders were always busy throughout TH9, saved one for walls and as you can guessed, farmed walls faster than def) and went to TH10, I faced the opposite dilemma of yours.

I think it depends on where you see your end goal being. Do you see yourself with max zaps and max heroes one day or are you happy with max def but say half lavas and so? Do you prefer doing clan wars or do you enjoy farming? And how much do you farm each day?

If you can't fill your storages within a day or two and do 1-2 walls each day, then maybe going to TH10 will be better because it will take you half a year or so to finish your walls. If you prefer clan wars, then go to TH10 because if you get matched against a decent clan, a max TH9 is still a liability. If you're okay with legos and maybe taking a longer while later to do zaps, then go to TH10.

I maxed my splash damage, air def and both heroes were 40+ combined when I went to TH10 though. You mentioned that your heroes were in it's lower to mid 10s, I would suggest at least getting them to their 20s. This is because while I think it's easier to get de as a TH10, the first few months will be hard to farm as you upgrade spell factory/farming armies/army camps and having decent levelled heroes will be helpful. I also suggest getting all legos first at least because that's pretty easy. You will very rarely find anymore 300k+ TH8 gold raids at TH10.

As with nearly all decisions, there will be pros, and cons.
Why must everyone insist on asking every th10 and their dog trot to out the same points for and against at least once a day.

Your walls and heroes are way too low for TH10.

Get to full legoes at least and heroes to 20ish.

Your fine to go to TH10. I was the lone th10 in a clan with lower walls and similar heros to yours. We won almost all wars.

Don't listen to all the posts saying you need minimum legos or lvl 20 heros before going to TH10. You really don't. From experience, you'll be fine in regular matchmaking at TH10 with lvl 7 walls and lvl 10-12 heros. You may even be fine lower than that but I can't speak from experience there.

If you go to TH10, you are going to need an awful lot of lix in the early days. Regular raiding for camps, spells, lab etc + supporting war donations and raids at the same time as losing the ability to practically raid TH8s will be a serious drain.

Do whatever you want, there are multiple opinions on this. I have a mix of level7/8 walls and maxed defenses except for last level of archer towers. I rarely get 2 starred in clan wars, and that's usually only people with 35+ heroes; just need a good layout that's not the same cookie cutter junk everyone is used to attacking. 2 inferno and extra xbow will give you more defensive power compared to all Lego walls.

Bottom line, if you're having fun farming walls and heroes stay at th9. If you think you'll have more fun moving to th10 for new buildings, higher troops, and the ability to donate those troops to your clan to war then move up.

This is ridiculous for most players. You have to consider the type of player and their goals/style before giving advice.

I'm going to TH10 next month once my TH9 lab upgrades are all done. I already have maxed buildings, and by upgrade time I'll have all skulls, about 60-70 legos, and probably level 12 heroes.

The best thing of all is I don't care who thinks I'm right/wrong to upgrade at that stage :p

I wish more people would have your attitude instead of seeing a new post everyday asking if they are good enough for th10.

I think you should upgrade AQ to, at least, lvl 15 first.

The boost would be great, but remember that you going up will mean th10s for the enemy as the strength is balanced. I think you should get heroes up at least to 15 possibly 20 depending on how much you farm. When two clanmates went to th10 the enemies immediately became significantly stronger which hurts your offense until you can upgrade troops and spells.
