Please go back to allowing Elixir to be used for wall upgrades

My point which is either didn't read or chose to ignore is I don't see how making elixir totally invaluable at TH8 improves the game in any way or balances the economy. My experience is that the balance of the economy has swung massively in the other direction. I can happily go on pissing away elixir because it has no value or I could post something here explaining why I think this change was bad. Maybe there is something I am missing, or maybe it makes a difference at a higher level that I haven't reached but randomly taking words out of my post to try to make a point doesn't really do that.

There are huge volumes of reading all over this forum about what happened when elixir for walls was patched in. As you state, TH8 doesn't need elixir. But TH9-10 do. Lots of it. TH9 also make the same amount of elixir as TH7. See the problem here? Long story short, overnight all TH7-10 spent their elixir on walls. TH10 went to attack TH9 . . . nothing, so try TH8 . . . nothing. This point of this game is to attack people and take their resources. All of a sudden the resources were gone.

Lix for walls was very HANDY for TH8 and it was handy for TH9-10 for about 12 hours. Then it was a nightmare. SC lost gem sales and drove many long term players away because the game was unplayable. Remember, the point of CoC is to attack other players and take some of what they have. When nobody had anything the end game dissolved. More went into it than just lix for walls but I will let you read the multiple thousands of forum pages on the topic. All of the information is there if you can sort through the flames and debase arguing.

This makes very little sense to me. So the reason for TH8s can not use elixir for walls is because they want us to have enough elixir to provide the TH9/TH10 with a good enough target to attack to keep the elixir flowing up. Instead of making TH8 elix collectors for higher levels why wouldn't you restrict higher levels from using their elixir for walls or at least make changes to allow higher levels to get more elixir on their own. Seems like if higher levels can still use elixir for walls you are still going to have lots of TH9 and TH10 using their elix for walls and TH9/TH10 would still not have enough elixir when attacking each other.

From th8s. If all you have left are Gold upgrades and walls, then boost and use that lix for walls and put all five builders to work at the same time. I am a Th8 and see no problem with this, mostly cause i don't really care for walls atm but it does feel like giving back to the community that we raid from.

As a townhall 8 I had ~half my walls when they took Lix for walls away and I'm glad they did.

As a th8 my (and I expect your) resources come either from collector raids or storage raids on th7s. When I'm th9 with all the elixir upgrades needed right at the beginning I expect to get most of that elixir from th8s. Picking on weaker people is how this game works unless you rely on collectors in which case you can't keep your builders busy.

I would also 2nd the idea of only allowing it on lvl 10+ walls to keep more lix in the game.

You have to realize that there may be an imbalance of needs for elixir vs gold at th8 but that elixir is the more important resource, without elixir people can't build armies, donate troops, war. People were often losing elixir on raids because there was none to be found. Without gold your base stagnates, without elixir the game is unplayable.

Also incentivises going up to th9 so th10s can raid you instead of sitting maxed with sleeping builders doing walls at th8

and now mid-high th9 defense still get screw by th10 if they want

Its the low training times just as much as the low cost that makes BARCH so widely used. I tried doing mass dragon attacks with all my extra elixir but in the end the the mass dragons attacks were fun but not worth it. With all the wait time, I spent far less time actually playing the game and dragons were far less efficient in gaining resources.

For the good of the game is not making TH8 easier while making TH9 & TH10 substantially harder.

TH8 comparatively have it much easier than TH9 & TH10. They don't need elixir walls to make it even easier or you are in for a harsh reality as you go up the hall cycle.

Remember, you too will be TH9 or TH10 one day.

I sometimes have to skip 200k gold raids because there is no elixir on offer with it; so I cannot cover the cost of my army. Do you understand how messed up that is? I should never be in a position to skip a 200k gold raid as it will be unsustainable.

Instead elixir walls should be restricted to lv 10+. That way a player must have $3 million elixir [3/4 theft limit for TH10] before they can dump it out of the game.

What is best for the game is been able to raid good loot, not been able to spend it too quickly.
