I have maxed th 8 too. I have 120 skull walls done. It took me like maybe a month and one week. Its really easy to farm walls once your defence is maxed out! It doesnt take that longQuote:

Its a pain.. I thought it got boring and I used elixir walls.
I've been playing for 2 years, currently at TH10, level 137 and only just finished my skull walls after maxing my last defense building! Now the only thing left to spend my gold and elixir on are walls, so I'm wondering how long it'll take me to get them all to level 9. Probably still a really long time!! 125K of each resource is still a lot! Right now however my priority is getting my heroes to level 40!
I think unless you concentrate solidly on walls it takes forever!!

2 weeks of cheap boosts. That wouldve about done it...
You've just missed the best opportunity to farm walls with the one-gem boosts over Christmas.
Took me about two weeks to finish off 40 crystal walls and 50 skulls doing two 2-hour sessions per day (except 24th, 25th, 26th Dec)
1 week or less can't remember inb4 the elixir update
At least 3-4weeks of hard core farming for now since you need at least 100m gold for 255 walls from 7 to 8
Max those walls and you will have less concerns on walls while th9 cuz you will get 25 walls and then no more :D you can only have 250 walls total
