Hero Upgrades! The Simple Solution and More!

Hero Upgrades

Alright.. so I'm assuming you all hate the way heroes are upgraded at the moment.. so I've come up with a simple solution.

So, you wanna farm your heroes? Too bad. Wars are here and you gotta use them. With this new update your going to beable to use heroes during war or while there upgrading in the normal battle field. This is the simplest solution I came up with that will benefit us and Supercell.

When you upgrade heroes theres a time for upgrading them. With this new update this will add a button when the hero is upgrading... The button is called "Use hero"

This button will allow you to use your heroes while they're upgrading. I'm sure your wondering though why this is a button? When you press this, it will multiply the time left in a hero upgrade by 1.5. Once you press this though you can't press it again to undo it to prevent abuse!

So, instead of a 12 hr hero upgrade to lvl 2.. it would be 18 hrs. To upgrade the hero to lvl 20 (example) it would be 10 days. Not that bad!

I did it like this so it would benefit us and Supercell at the same time (They need the cash... They cant go around giving away too much free stuff)

So, can't be that bad can it? We get what WE need the most and Supercell benefits. As a guy who needs to push, farm, and war (along with others) I know you need to use them. With this update you can use it forever while your upgrading it!

Please tell me how you would like this idea! I would like to see it but I want to know how you'd like to.

Dumbest idea ever I would never make my heros wait 1.5 times the length just to use them for one attack. And how does this benefit sc?

You don't use them for one attack.. you can use them forever while they're upgrading.

I like the idea of being able to use your heroes for a penalty, but as much as I'd like it to be implemented I think it's unrealistic. I can't imagine many people gemming for the upgrade time if they could use the heroes without, and especially not those that don't gem now anyway.

That is very true... people would mostly gem it even if they could use it while upgrading because you might need / want to hero upgrade for next war... ex: lvl 4 to 5... lvl 39 to 40. I thought it would work for that reason. Plus, everything needs a penalty after every update... Can't be a total good thing, always has to be a catch for this game. (Not trying to be rude, saying the truth)

That's not a bad idea. I would also suggest that they be available for use in the same way that defenses are alive while upgrading. There doesn't necessarily need to be a button that adds upgrade time, but I doubt SC loves us that much. :P

I like the idea of being able to use them while their upgrading but this seems like a lengthy increase in time. A one week hero upgrade now adds 2-4 more days which seems like a pain.

People who gem there heros pay supercell for the gems and if you can just use the heros when upgrading them then there is no reason to gem them therefore supercell with loose money and will never take this idea in.

Why would there be no reason to gem? It's not like your taking away the cost to upgrade your heroes.

I like it.

People will still need to gem as with this system they have more time to accumulate DE for the next update. When that DE is full no-one wants it to overflow to waste and hit that gem finish now button.

I like the idea as well. But do you want to use heroes for both farming and warring? I think the main request is for wars. But I might be mistaken here.

I also would tune a bit in in the penalty area.
I think 50% global might be a bit heavy. as if you add 50% to 7d, I don't think many will use it.
It must be realistic and still likely to gem. I think 10%/20% for one attack or one war could be better.
People will still want to gem to farm for instance or to avoid the extra duration.

Adding upgrade time will want people to gem other things as they have limited workers.

I think this update might revive many players who gave up, as war did not allow them to upgrade heroes anymore.

In my clan people gem just to get sooner to the next level of extra power. SC could even make up to lvl50 heroes if they are afraid they might loose money. I think this is a very good idea and a big win/win for players and for supercell.

Great idea! Would help me A LOT in wars.

I'd like to see some changes in the hero upgrading, and frankly there should, it collides too much with clanwars.

I just don't get why people so easily discard good suggestions on terms of SC being greedy. There is a lot more to gem besides heroes, SC has got to cut us some slack somewhere or else everyone gets frustrated. SC gets their gems one way or another, besides making money they probably would like to make a great game as well.

Why not to have gems - say 100 to use hero for 1 war attack ? And upgrade continues as it is...

Like it... the button is quite weird idea, but it's OK.

I think they'd add this if and only if once you pressed the button and the extra time was added that the Hero only had 1 life / use. So in other words after 1 attack / defense rather it died or not, its dead and cant be used until the upgrade is finished. And instead of it being a x1.5 upgrade time, it should only add like an extra 12 hours or so. Therefor it wouldn't be OP because you could only use it once in war for 1 attack, and they would still have people gem there heroes so they would still make money.

it would be nice because i rarely upgrade heroes, but it will make them lose money if the person is like me

Impact of hero upgrade should be separated into two systems: 1. farming, 2. clan war. For war, now heroes and hero levels are still counted in the village strength, which is unfair. They should be usable but restricted to the level before upgrade, just like defense buildings system in clan wars.

So I'm guessing you haven't gotten to the point where it takes 7 days. I just went through months of it. If I used them once per week I would never even finish a single upgrade. It would be perpetual suckness.

Maybe add a " Use Hero " button what costs you 1000 DE or so depending on Hero power and makes the hero available for 30 minutes before he / she will be put back to upgrade ! Builder will however not be free !

...and this is why this is a terrible idea. Let's say you war constantly, and your heroes are at least level 15, so the upgrades take a week. You finish war attacks at the beginning of a war, and start an upgrade.

2 days later you need to attack again. Even if you get to do BOTH attacks for the 1.5x time increase, you still have 5 days left on your upgrade, which means you're adding 2.5 days to the total time, so your hero now has 7.5 days until completion. Even if you attacked at the very beginning of one war and the end of the next, you still have more than 4 days left on the upgrade when you need to use it, which means more than 2 days gets added to the total, meaning that if you're constantly warring, the upgrade literally NEVER finishes.

And some people said it needs to be 2-2.5x....clearly the people who think this is a good idea haven't thought this through. Even at 1.5, the only way it would make any sense at all to use it would be if your upgrade had 3 days or less left, which means you'd still need to sit out for 4 days every time you upgrade, so you'd still be forced to miss about half the wars you're currently missing.




The way to actually get this done is to have a pause button that can be used a limited number of times and ideally only activates a hero for war. It might even cost a nominal number of gems. The builder would still be tied to the hero upgrade and couldn't be used for anything else (even walls or clearing obstacles), and you'd have a limited amount of time/number of attacks it would pause for (1 or 2). The time penalty is the time the upgrade is paused, or at most you add 12 hours, but this doesn't really solve anything for Supercell; they'd likely be much better off with no time penalty but a small gem fee to use the pause option.

I agree, the idea that you would literally add additional time is terrible. What are you to do for the next war add an additional 3 days, no. This won't work unless its far less time like 12 hours per time you use them in war and that is still excessive maybe like 2 additional hours per time you use them, but that is the only way this would work.

that's so dumb, you are trying to fix the 'I don't have my hero during war' problem by saying that you should have I now but then not have it for even longer, this is one of the worst ideas I have seen
